New Order and biking

Just did a 4 day self contained bike tour on my bicycle. Pulled about 100 lb of crap including a stereo and about 8 NO tapes (cd's skip and tapes are replacable). One tape had Movement on one side and the Taras Shevrenko concert on the other. I really fell in love with both sides. The concert must have been the third time Temptation was played live with lyrics. So raw and inspiring, it is a true gift they gave us. The ability to hear a song develope. Denial was another fave, the nonstop guitar jam and drumming. Barney can almost sing at the end of the show. The guitar parts in Tempation sound like Denial at times. Also noticed a lyric change in Procession.

Anyway, nothing beats NO in schelping a bike and gear up steep hills all day long. And those around me said they appreciated it.

Not to drift off topic too much, but IMHO MiniDisc is the perfect replacement for tapes. Very compact, hardly ever skips, 80 minutes CD quality, or 160 minutes of almost CD quality. MD fits most of my portable music needs (biking, travel). For jogging I use an mp3-player with pumpin' techno.
