  • WFTSC CD AU Catalog info: Warner 2564622022

  • WFTSC: Add GE CD - Two disc version with two Krafty remixes on 2nd disc (Single and Album edits)

  • Krafty CDS AU: Track 5 is 'Album Version' 4.33 not 'Album Re-Edit'

  • Krafty US 12"x2 Promo: Morel Pink Noise Vocal 7.52; DJ Dan Vocal 8.18; Morel's Pink Noise Dub 7.30

  • Krafty: Add 2 x US 1-track CDRs now appearing on eBay and eil.com

  • Krafty: Add UK 12" Promo - (NXDJ13?) Plain sleeve, check Chris Nash for info

  • Jetstream: Add UK 7-track promo CD, check Nick King for info

Also I seem to recall Mr Discography mentioning a variation between running times of the same remix on a Krafty promo and official release. Can't remember which one though.

Are you sure the german cd is indeed german?

Because I got one from Warner Germany, and it's the UK one!

So there is one with a 2nd disc... funny they never mentionned it!

There's also 2 different Australian promo CD singles of "Krafty":

Krafty - 3-track promo (WCDB606)

  1. Radio Edit
  2. Andy Green Remix
  3. Album Version

Krafty - 7-track promo (WCDB927)

  1. Radio Edit
  2. The Glimmers 12" Extended
  3. The Glimmers Dub Version
  4. Phones Reality Remix
  5. Riton Re-Dub Remix
  6. Andy Green Remix
  7. Album Version.

And a 5-track UK CDR of Jetstream:

  1. Radio edit 3.42 mins
  2. Richard X remix edit 3.34
  3. Richard X remix 7.36
  4. Arthur Baker remix 7.00
  5. Tom Neville remix 7.30

Some guy's selling above item for 40 quid... :eek3:

As far as I read it is a package deal comprising WFTSC & the Krafty maxi single, so no 2 disc album.

You do speak German don't you Ron?

It looks to me like they're offering a package deal with the Krafty maxi CD but that's a separate deal to this album which comes with a two-track (ie. non-maxi) Krafty disc.

But my German is limited to a few exclamations from The Great Escape so what do I know.

. Waiting For The Sirens' Call (exklusiv bei Amazon.de mit Bonus-Single) -- von New Order -- Doppel CD - 2005 Statt: EUR 14,99 / Jetzt: EUR 13,99 / Sie sparen: EUR 1,00 (7%) /

It says double cd yes. My guess is that its the standard album with the Krafty single, either packaged as a double album, or as 2 seperate items. That's the best I can do at this stage, short of ordering this, which I'm not going to do.

MOVE THIS THREAD BACK TO DIGITAL REPUBLIC!

PLEASE?

It's collectors' issues, not technical issues. No one's going to come here to read it and add to it so we can improve the NOOL discography.

I can, but the idea to put it up here was so I can find it easily when I'll do the updates... it was going to be kicked off the first page !

Indeed, I'll have to create some elbow space to get a few promos it seems...

Lots of goodies to grab, and again, they forgot a few on the official releases... not that I mind, but I do collect music.

That looks like the 1963 digitpak...

Reminiscent of the 1963 promo vinyl.

Are we going to see more variations of this? J2, J3, etc?

Not entirely sure Nic, surely one of our German friends can shed more light on this? Hard to establish which edit track 2 is and whether it's actually a double-CD pack or just an Amazon giveaway.

Didn't know this was a regional metaphor? Being a mining man Oiler, you'd like that one. I'd imagine it comes from striking it rich when digging - 'hitting paydirt'. What I was trying to say was that things are going nuts for NO collectors at this moment with a dizzying array of promos and commercial releases available.

Perhaps I can help with that double CD thing...

I'm from germany and I bought the 2 CD-WFTSC...

It is no Double-CD. It is the normal CD + "Krafty" as a free givaway in a cheap cardboard sleeve (can I call it that way?). The "Bonus-CD" only contains the Album Version and the Single Version.

Has anyone managed to bag the Jacques Lu Cont CDR yet? I was tempted, as there's two Jacques Lu Cont mixes that are going to appear on the official release, with one being vinyl-only...

It'd be a bit of a bummer if the one on the CDR was the vinyl-only version and I didn't take the option to buy it, but at 35 quid... :eek3:

It would be a shame although these sorts of mixes have a habit of appearing on US Maxi-CDs when they eventually get a release. Here's hoping.

Oh, and btw, here's a heads up to those looking for promo CD-R's on ebay.

If you see either of the two descriptions (for "Radio 1 Promo CD's - from Hanover") on an ebay sale (and the seller is from the Czech Republic or, sometimes, the US), *don't* bid on them. They are bootlegs, despite the claims!

RARE TO HEAR AND TO FIND. OUT OF PRINT.

Factory pressed original CD – not a copy! You can't find it in stores!

This release comes in new slim case without any artwork.

CD is UNIQUE. You can hardly find another copy of that Radio 1 dj's promo CD.

This cd came directly from radio station private collection and has never been available to the general public. The cd is in excellent condition with no scuffs and plays flawlessly. Was released in limited quantities to be spread within industry to promote rare releases of different artists. Was intended for PROMO USE only and stricktly radio braodcasting. Comes with no artwork but has special sticker with info about release. CD is factory made - not a copy of any kind! Includes serial number and licence information. Looks really proffessional.

I wouldn't mind, but they're trying to palm them off as legit and making people pay between $20-$25 for each one!! :nono:

Think our Greek CD-R promo mate is in the same boat. You do have to wonder about the mentality of some buyers, don't they wonder how they can purchase a Greek promo of something when the UK promos are barely even out? Moreover, with remixes not even commissioned by Warner? Still they pay the big notes.

There was a 10-track (or so) Greek CD-R of Jetstream with three DMC remixes tacked onto the end. It sold on eBay around the same time as the first UK CD-Rs came out and seemed more than a little .. hinky.

For the record...

The US 2x12" Krafty clocks 2 tracks differently...

Morels' Dub is 7:48 on the release, 7:30 on the promo. Eric Kupper Club Mix is 9:00 on the promo and 9:11 on the release.

Now, don't ask me to plug my turn table to check if they are really different, but the mp3 I have from the 2x12" promo is indeed shorter...

The 'Glimmers Dub Mix' of Krafty on the UK 12" (042800CD) is actually only 5:22 in length, and a completely different mix from the same-titled mix that appears on the CD promos. It's length is incorrect on the sleeve notes of that 12".

I'll dig out the Krafty and Jetstream vinyl and CD promos later and post details (and perhaps pics). I've also got some compilations not mentioned in the discography that maybe should be added - some NME/Select/etc freebies and some more 'official'.

I'll do my best to sort them out and post later.

This amendment to the Discography isn't really a recent one, it's to do with "World (the Price of Love)" CD singles from '93. I have a few copies from different countries and I think I've spotted a unique version of the "Pharmacy Dub" mix which as far as I can see the online discographies haven't noticed. As we can see from the entries taken from the New Order Discography (http://www.niagara.edu/neworder/) the Pharmacy Dubs on these two CD singles are listed as being identical in length:

CD5: GE 1993 (London/CentreDate Co Ltd. Int 857301.2) 5:51 World (world in action mix) 5:56 World (the sexy disco dub) 7:06 World (pharmacy dub) * 5:39 World (the brothers dubstrumental)

CD5: UK 1993 (London/CentreDate Co Ltd. NUCDP 3) [Int 857283.2] 8:03 World (the brothers in rhythm mix) 5:39 World (the brothers dubstrumental) 5:51 World (world in action mix) 7:06 World (pharmacy dub) **

In fact, the Pharmacy Dub * on the German "CD Maxi" is only 5:14 versus the more commonly available 7:06 version ** on the UK carboard sleeve edition. Just under two minutes completely missing. I've made MP3s of both and they sound identical except the German 5:14 version fades out where the 7:06 continues  I know it's not particularly a big deal but I suppose the German CD has a unique mix; the "Pharmacy Dub Edit" perhaps? All the discographies from Niagara to NOOL and WIM list the German CD as having the 7:06 version.

Anyone else spot this or is my GE one a freak mis-pressing?

Ally.

I'm saving up my Sub Sub collection for a rainy day when some loaded newbie Doves fan searches for it on eBay :evil4: I've got pretty much all the CDs by now including Delta Tapes which was a bastard to acquire.

you have the final CD pressing of PC&L as being in the UK in 1993, but i'm sure mine was released in the US in 1990 (it doesn't specify by whom, it only has quest 1983 on it, although it does mention that it's a division of warner).

Some notes and additions for the discography...

There are actually two US promo 2x12's for "Krafty":

  1. PRO-A-101531-A = plain die-cut sleeve
  2. PRO-A-101531 = die-cut sleeve with sticker

Track listing is the same for both releases, but the labels reflect the unique catalog number. I can provide scans if needed.

Similar situation with "World":

  1. PRO-A-6276-A = plain die-cut sleeve
  2. PRO-A-6276 = custom picture sleeve

This is something that Warner seems to do on a regular basis and has not been picked up in any of the on line discographies. I guess the "A" version is issued in advance of the promo with artwork.

One final note, I have both the UK and the US 2xLP's for WFTSC. To my surprise, the US version is simply the UK 2xLP with a sticker over the UPC code showing the US item number.

Quick question which may have been answered before... I recently got a copy of the "Threesome" soundtrack CD for $0.99. What I would like to know is whether the Bizarre Love Triangle mix featured on this soundtrack CD essentially the same as the unique Canadian 7" edit previously only available on vinyl? I've listened to both and the only difference I can really notice is that the Threesome version fades out about a second or two before the end (hardly guts the song really) but aside from that are they considered the same mix?

Cos if so my crappy Canadian 7" MP3 is getting trashed :D it's not the best sound!

Cheers.

So on average do you get these cd's from going to their gigs or what?

The 'Threesome' version is the same, 3:24 faded-out edit as featured on the Qwest promo 12" PRO-A-2636 (that was backed with the intruigingly-titled "Extended Edit" mix - a cropped version of the 12" mix). If memory serves, this 3:24 mix is a faded out version of the Canadian gatefold 7" "Remixed & Edited" mix that clocks in at 3:36, so still, essentially, a different mix - as such.

I was just wondering why the iTunes etc. downloads aren't listed in any of the discography entries for Krafty and Jetstream?

I personally don't bother buying these, as I'm into collection New Order "releases" not downloads, but it'd be interesting to see all the mixes listed, just to work out which ones were download-only, and to find out if any of them made it onto any promo CDs or 12"s.

What were the "exclusive" online-only mixes of Krafty/Jetstream, by the way?

There are actually two US promo 2x12's for "Krafty":

  1. PRO-A-101531-A = plain die-cut sleeve
  2. PRO-A-101531 = die-cut sleeve with sticker

Track listing is the same for both releases, but the labels reflect the unique catalog number. I can provide scans if needed.

Similar situation with "World":

  1. PRO-A-6276-A = plain die-cut sleeve
  2. PRO-A-6276 = custom picture sleeve

Is the cat# "-A" also scratched on the inner part of the vinyl?

I finally had the chance to check, the matrix numbers in the run out groove are identical for both releases, Krafty and World. However, as mentioned previously, the labels are totally different between the "-A" and the regular PRO release.

Even though the matrix numbers are identical I would tend to count these as separate releases since the packaging is different.

Let me know if you would like me to send you scans...

Oh, and one more item, the US advance for WFTSC...

CD: US 2005 (Warner Bros. 2A-49307-A) [promo] [jewel case w/back insert]

Scans available if anyone is interested.

The listing for "Shellshock" as it appears on the PiP soundtrack is wrong both on this site's discography and on the one at Worldinmotion.net -- either that, or I've got some special version of it. "Shellshock" is 6:04 rather than 6:40. I think someone just transposed the digits.

By the way, can someone add to the discog page an entry for the VH1 soundtracks compilation that features BLT? I don't have it, or I'd be happy to supply the info. I've heard from other sources that the BLT on it is the Married to the Mob version, but the time given in the All Music Guide discography (4:21) suggests that it's really just the Brotherhood album version.

True Faith Edits

The UK 7” (FAC183-7) and the US 7” (9 28271-7) do not have the same A-side edits. The UK 7” has an edited version of the full 12”, as was standard practice with UK 7” edits for New Order. This clocks in at 4:10.

The US 7” on the other hand contains an edit of the Shep Pettibone remix, clocking in at 4:02. This remix edit is also found on the B-side of the Qwest US 7” of Blue Monday 88 (9 21887-7).

To get the two edits on CD, you need the following:

The UK CDV (FACDV 183) lists a “7 inch” version as track three. Bizarrely although the CDV was a UK release, the 7” version in question is actually the US edit, not the UK one. This same version is also the lead track on the US promo CDS (Qwest PRO-CD-2899), where it is listed as the “morning sun remix edit”.

To find the UK edit on CD you need the same US promo CDS, which lists it as “album edit”. Phew! I don’t have any of the other True Faith 7” listed, so I don’t know which ones contain the UK 7” and which contain the US edit.

Regret (Sabres Fast 'N' Throb).

The UK 2x12" promo(London NUOXDJ1)has a 13:34 version which doesn't fade out at 12:11 where the synth line comes in. This is different to the version on the French CD5 and the Japanese Republic which fade out at 12:11. The regular UK 12" also has the shorter faded out version.

I bought this a little while ago-New Roder(sic)Waiting For The Sirens' Cal(sic). P & C 2005 Universal Music Ltd. Marketed by Universal Music Ltd. Hong Kong/Singapore/Malaysia/Canada. I got it thru an Ebay seller based in China for about $15 aud. No probs with quality of the CD itself, but the inner and outer sleeves have various spelling errors, pictures with Gillian still in the band and inside the CD booklet itself, not only does it feature slightly skewiff printing of the song lyrics, but also some lyrics from what I presume to be an old Sex Pistols album!! I'd say this deffo is a boot for sure!!

Spotnick, is the Mobilegazer mix of EGG the same as the Martin Buttrich mix? That mix is 4:56 on the 5-track remixes CDR.

This is the place for the neworderonline discography additions?

Well, I noticed some errors in the BLT discography. Just received the gatefold Canadian 7" (Fac 26), this one contains the same single mix (Remixed & Edited) as the European releases. However the US promo 7" contains on both sides an unique mix (3:36)...

And it seems a Filipino 7" of Spooky exists, I don't have any details on this one yet...

(to be continued...)

Sorry if this is old news. I recently tracked down the issue of Record Mirror 22/03/06 with the remix of Sub-Culture. Below are the details from the magazine.

The RM EP "Ooops, it seems them old credits on the New Order track are slightly wrong... It should read as follows: Sub-Culture (New Order). Produced by New Order and remixed by Joseph Watt. P Factory Communications 1986. C Factory Communications 1986. Published by Be Music. Apologies to all concerned."
