FAO Nic: Names...

Dear Spotty;

Given this wonderful age of identity theft I was wondering if it was possible to have a facility that allows you to block a display of your full name in the member profile (when people click on the avatar in forums).

I know you can block the whole profile easily, but it would be nice if we could select what to block and what not to block in the pop up window...

The name is the key thing; I'm fairly sure there are other people who would like to block out their surname in countries where identity theft is prevalent.

Just testing 1st post...

but blocking names sounds like a good idea, most sites dont actually display real names or at least have an option not to. What about all the new members profiles up there on the homepage. (like mine!) I dont think it's paranoid in this day and age.
