I think he's a lucky fucky. He came into the scotland job after the squad had already been put together and were doing well in qualification matches. Before that 50% of the Gers fans wanted him out at Ibrox so the national job came his way at quite a timely moment.
I think after he initial few weeks buzzing in our second city he will be found out and the dildos porno / far east conglomerate will be squirming on their anal intruders wondering how they got themselves into another fine mess.

Just reinforcing the fact that clubs (particularly premiership clubs) are bigger than national sides...
Perhaps we're seeing a shift that means that national managers will either be young men with a reputation to prove, "showcasing" their talents, hoping to attract the big money "dream jobs", or elder "retired statesmen" of the game...

One of Scotlands other goalies in 86 was Alan Rough, who stayed a few streets away from me, and who I scored against playing on a local pitch. (Jackie McNamara [Jr] also stayed in the same street as me, but as he was/is younger than me I had to teach him how to play).
