Hooray - pages and pages of Cheryl Cole and Co living it up in South Africa, can't wait. 5 goals and still bored me to tears (obviously loving my man, Eduardo's goal)
Long gone are the days of 86, 90 and 96 before the women took over!
Club all the way.
I doubt Fabio will let any of the wags come along this time (more then any other time......)
went to see them play on saturday and was amazed at some of the crowd leaving 20 minutes early,, obviously booking the early flights for S.A.
its one on one
They are looking like a good team, only weakness is too many dodgy goalkeepers.
I mean Ben Foster
come on!

Quarter final. Semi final at best.Although i wouldn't be surprised if they fuck up monumentally and even go out at the group stage.
Just read on Football 365 that one of Ian Wrights "big opinions" was that Jermaine Defoe was the out and out goalscorer that England desperately need. After Wayne Rooney has banged in nine in this campaign, two ahead of his nearest rival.
Ian Wright ![]()
Speaking of which, nice to see My Shaun play his way out of World Cup contention this week. No doubt we'll have the usual xenophobic reaction from Wright when England dont win the World Cup next year, no doubt solely because My Shaun wasnt selected.

Why's that big man?
International football doesn't interest me, and watching England, despite the stats, i personally find boring. No right or wrong, guess it's what turns you on and England don't for me. Simple. I can't stand the wag culture that comes with the England team in tournaments - pages of wives and girlfriends dancing on tables and camera shots during games of them all sitting there touching their lip gloss up in the crowd. That again is a personal opinion.
For me, this WAG culture has really surfaced since the late 90s (probably posh and becks)and in the days where i used to travel all over to watch England - it certainlly was not something that was high profile as it is in todays football.
It probably doesn't help that I dislike the majority of the England squad as well, again, personal opinion, but I find it hard to get excited about any of the Chelsea players, for example, who I loath - bit like how you feel about Ian Wright, and how you and I feel about each other - you can't just start liking someone if you can't stand them and what they stand for or what they are. That's how it is.
And all my life, Arsenal has always been my priority where football is concerened, way before watching England and i'd rather watch Arsenal play football (or Barnet and Whetstone Wanderes)over an England game any day. Watching my club is what football is about for me.
Again, my life, my opinion, my turn on and fuck all to do with you!

Obviously booking the flights before the Scots take all the window seats..
Oh,no...Sorry my mistake![]()
Well just to mix chips with preferences,, pompey e mailed me to say i had been given preference on booking trips to south Africa FOR THE 2010 WORLD CUP,, yes stay in a comfortable hotel, flights included and face value match tickets,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,PRICES ,, start at,,,£3999

Id be more than happy if England made the semi's. All Ill say is weve got a decent chance of doing well, but so have about a dozen other teams.
I actually enjoyed the Euro 2008 more because England werent there. There was no stress and could appreciate watching the other teams more.
But come 2010 I will have the blinkers on and have blind faith that England can do better than 2002 and 2006.

First off we've got Tory Boy, who if leant any further to the right he'd be a proper hun, the kind you probably goad when chanting about world wars rather than the football.....if ye've ever been to an Engerland game. I don't know about England getting to the semi-finals, but this little heated debate has certainly given me a semi-on.

My own contribution is.....much like Bonz, although I've always been a club-before-country man, my youthful enthusiasm for the international game has been on the wane for a while now. The whole WAG thing doesn't concern me (or at least not in the way it does Bonz!), but as you get older and wiser it's difficult not to get bored by the whole flags-on-cars-and-in windows bullshit, not to mention the inevitable gnashing of teeth and national temper-tantrums when we get beaten by a better side. All a bit pathetic, frankly: I used to enjoy going out to the pub to watch Scotland internationals in Aberdeen - there was rarely any real expectation, and the Scots seem to be able to accept defeat without smashing thing up. If only we were that civilized down here.
Having said that, and even though I also loathe most of the squad, England were genuinely impressive the other night. I still think this is another false dawn, but the hype has certainly begun in earnest and it's not going to stop for a long time yet.

Still recall England arriving home after being knocked out of euro 2004 and Victoria Beckham waving to the England fans who had come to welcome home the England PLAYERS. What a sad, pitiful pathetic woman that she thought the fans wanted to see her. I was flabbergasted that the WAGS were allowed to go the 2006 World Cup.
I see Scotland fans still think it's England fans that say England can win the World Cup. It's the media that says that , not the fans.

Graham Speirs knew -
In a scathing piece in the Times Online, Spiers wrote : "It truly beggars belief that a sizable and unfortunate section of the Rangers support have come up with a regular terracing song about a child sex abuse case. Today at Falkirk, where Rangers are due to play, will doubtless be the latest Scottish ground to be polluted with this dirge. Some of you may be aware by now of this excruciating embarrassment for Rangers known as the '###' campaign (henceforth ###). The chant, which has been fomented among the usual victims on a fans’ website and by certain Rangers supporters groups leaders, refers to a Celtic Boys Club controversy of more than 30 years ago. The episode shocked Jock Stein, then the Celtic manager, when he was informed about it. Yet this Rangers song, as factually flawed and repellent as it is, tries to infer that Stein either condoned or attempted to cover-up the incident, which is nonsense. I have to admit I never thought I’d ever see the day when Scottish football supporters sang a song about a child sex abuse case, yet Rangers have duly delivered. Even more amazing and shocking is Rangers FC’s ongoing silence on the matter, as this cretinous chant builds up its head of steam among supporters. But those days of our silence on ### are drawing to a close for one good reason – the longer this deafening silence from Ibrox about it prevails, the more decent people are starting to agitate for Rangers to actually do something about it. Gordon Smith, the SFA chief executive, had the guts and the moral fibre to refer to ### as “morally repugnant”. Yet what have Rangers got to say about it ? Does no one at the club actually possess the bottle to stand up and condemn it ? ### is now a ticking time-bomb for Rangers. It is The Billy Boys all over again and I am frankly amazed that the club hasn’t learnt lessons from their recent past and their prosecution by Uefa. Unless Rangers do something and act strongly, this benighted club is once more going to be stung."
Here are some quotes from the Daily Record at the time of these disgusting crimes. These newspaper stories may be viewed on the Jim Torbett article on Wikipedia the link is entitled "media dossier of reports of the abuse at celtic boys club". http://homepage.ntlworld.com/k.tole/Celtic%20Stats%201996-1997/Celtic%20Boys%20Club.PDF Here are a few quotes The first quote leaves the matter in no doubt Scotland on Sunday 18/08/1996 "Cairney claims that in 1977, at a meeting in a social club in London Road, in front of himself and several members of the committee Torbett broke down in tears and confessed."To Jim Torbett's credit he phoned Jock Stein and admitted the offences," Cairney recalls "Jock called a meeting at Celtic Park, which he chaired. He took all the financial statements off him and led him to the door. Torbett started crying. Jock's words were "never mind the fu cking hollywood stuff" and opened the door and said to him "If it wasn't for these boys you'd be going to jail for a long while". He opened the door and kicked him in the backside right out"". Daily Record 12/08/1996 "The Celtic board were aware of the rumours about Torbett, who was general manager of the boy's club. But only one man took him on. Jock Stein who saw the youngsters as the lifeblood of the club, gave him his marching orders. The big man brought in business-man Hugh Birt as boys-club chairman and Torbett went back to building his store empire. But after Stein's death the pervert wheedled his way back in as fundraiser. Again complaints were made that boys were being taken away for weekends and sexually abused. But when Birt raised the matter 10 years ago he was forced to resign". Daily Record 14/08/1996 "When Tommy Burns was appointed Parkhead boss in 1994, he tried to bring his mentor Frank Cairney back to Parkhead. But the move to end his three year exile was blocked by Celtic chief Fergus McCann". Tommy Burns was also quoted in this article as saying "He has the whole of my backing and that of Celtic football club to a man". (Frank Cairney was also accused of abusing young players. Tommy Burns later tried to change this statement, however the Record maintained that this was an accurate quote. Daily Record 17/08/1996 "Sick Cairney also claimed former general manager Jim Torbett broke down at an emotional meeting and admitted interfering with young players. He went on to tell how celtic supremo Jock Stein physically booted Torbett out of the boardroom". These quotes and further reading of the media dossier shows that Jock Stein and many others knew about the abuse at Celtic Boys Club and kept quiet about it. However I would not recommend reading too much about this as the whole affair was completely sick, it is disgusting and disturbing that Celtic allowed this to go on for so long. Jock Stein and Fergus McCann emerge with more credit than most others involved, however had Jock spoken up rather than just booted out Torbett, he would not have been able to come back and commit further abuse.
The whole BJK campaign was designed to have everyone believe there was some kind of cover up or that Stein was aware and let the abuse continue. As you can see from your articles above, this is not the case. It's quite easy making up lies / exagerating the truth about people who cannot answer back. I'm sure all the players involved are really happy you and your friends at Ibrox are campaigning for them and keeping this in the public eye. Maybe you think child abuse is good for point scoring? So answer me this, Why do you and your fans revel in the singing of songs about child abuse?
ShugZV wrote: Why do you and your fans revel in the singing of songs about child abuse?

That's yer justification? That's just plain laughable. Your support has already been banned from singing The Billy Boys because it is sectarian and The Famine Song which is racist. Ye's will never fucking learn.
Who turned a blind eye? Did Stein not kick him out the door as soon as he found out what happened? Read the article again.
