From Mario Herlaar: On december 15th 1985 me and a friend were standing in line in front of the Rotterdam Arena to see our all-time heroes perform. To our great surprise Bernard came walking up the steps and wanted to get inside. But the guy at the door had no clue of who he was, and refused him entrance. "I'm with the band", Bernard said. The doorman didn't believe him. "He's with the band", me and my mate said. "That's what they all say", the doorman replied.
Anyway, they had to fetch some girl from the management who said the same as us and only then he was allowed in! It was a typical New Order thing to happen and for me and my mate, december 15 1985 (our first New Order gig) became a memorable night.
