It was a hot summers night (apologies Neil) - this was a venue that was closed down a couple of years later with 300 odd Blondie fans in it for exceeding licenced numbers - this night there were about 1200 people in and you couldn't move -Soul on Ice was first up and it was a pretty poor choice of support - not that they were bad (they went on to some pretty good success in South East Asia) they were simply inappropriate - the same lads in the same car turned up as went to see NO at the LCC in '85, parked on top of the reservoir, worked our way through Geoff's JD and then moved on in - sorry about running the bottle over on the way out Geoff - they were in good form this particular night - attired for the weather in shorts and tee-shirts and a pretty impressive set - Barney announcing that Touched was the first time they'd ever palyed it - set lists from earlier gigs suggest he might have been pulling a fast one - home and back to work the next day - it was a long time before NO played Auckland again - ceremony eh? we weren't expecting that one - good lads
