As a long time fan this was my first opportunity to see New Order and the fact that it was in my home town made it all the more special. They put on a simply sublime concert. Stand out songs for me included "Your Silent Face", "Temptation" and my own personal favourite "Ceremony". Fantastic. Come back soon lads. AndyH

newcastle gig
what a night, being the first time of seeing "the order" live i was really excited about hearing songs i waited so many years to hear live(about 25 years for most of them) i walked away not dissapointed, from the brilliant newish crystal through ceremony and the classic transmission,i new then that it was going to be great whatever else happened, then my fave blt was played and temptation was possibly the best, with the audience joining in for the ooo ooo ooohs bit making the night, and going straight from perfect kiss to blue monday was great too, then of course shadowplay and love will tear us apart(since i started gigging back in 87 i never thought i would here that played live, but thanks to bernie and the boys they did). all in all a great concert, great venue as it was my first time of going there, maybe mozzer should have done this back in spring, instead he played the sage(more like a classical venue). even outside the gig i was complimented for wearing a manics t-shirt by a guy with joy division t-shirt,what a gig. well done bernie and hooky and co. for making the 11th october the best day of 2006 at carling academy, newcastle.

Live - Newcastle Carling Academy
What a gig!!!!
To see the boys in this kind of intimate venue is just amazing. Opening with Crystal and then into Regret the floor was honestly like a trampoline. Sumner sang and played as well as i have ever seen him and Hooky lorded it over the audience, playing it up as only he can (until one of his strings broke halfway through the set - but i'll forgive him that)
Other highlights were undoubtedly These days and Transmission. But the climax to the gig was spectacular.
BLT, Temptation, Perfect Kiss (with Bernard maybe purposely - although i doubt it, missing out the last verse) and into Blue Monday.
Then an Encore of Shadowplay which i havnt heard them do live before and then total Mayhem broke loose as the lads went in to LWTUA.
Only real dissapointment was the poor sound quality during the verses of Krafty (the bass on the keyboard drowning out the Lyrics). Never mind, other than that was absolutely fantastic.
