Ever since an older friend played Blue Monday for me, New Order has been in my life. New Order was the one band that I have listened to throughout all of my musical tastes . . . even my Greatful Dead "Deadhead" phase. No matter what I was listening to at the time, I always had a New Order album ready to play especially for the non-believers. So to answer the question, Why do I like New Order? The answer is, I just don't know . . . I just do. The music appeals to me, maybe it's the catchy melodys, maybe it's the infectious rhythmns, or maybe it's the fact that the band have perservered through many different changes internally, and externally. Maybe it is their ability to buck the trend, and still come out winners. For example, during the thick of the "grunge" era, New Order releases "Regret" and then later "Repubic", a very shiny, polished piece of work, that made even some of the "grungiest" stand up and take notice. Anyway, I'm not sure why I love the band, I just know that I'm glad they exist to fill my life with a wonderful soundtrack
