About

I am currently taking graduate classes toward a master's in teaching literature and creative writing on a college level, while my wife desires to be a midwife. We have four cats, three lizzards, a swank little apartment in Albany, NY (a decaying little swamp of a city without the crocodiles), and a love and collection of music, films, and literature. New Order is certianly our favorite band. Apart from above musicians, I also dig Kafka, Russian lit., Milan Kundera, British comedy (Monty Python, Black Adder, etc.), tattoos, and classic movies.

Why New Order?

What can I say that hasn't been said before, and likely with more style and polish? Sometimes in a primal way in which the soul is simply guided by the music in a way no other music can quite achieve and sometimes in a rational way, where I can pick apart and respect the individual beats and lyrics, New Order's contradictory nature and aesthetic sensibilities makes one feel somehow transcendent of all the detritus that surrounds us, as if the beautiful melodies can act as guardian angels that remind us that life is still good nomatter the circumstances, as well as doing the opposite, namely grounding us in the real world, making us more sensitive to our own natures and how they combine with everything else to create our version of reality. New Order, in other words, is the musical equivalent of a single cherry blossom, blooming for such a short time amidst the the hurricane winds of life but being so important to life that it will always be remembered.
