Why New Order?
The eighties were a fairly bleak place on the British music scene. Aside from Johnny Marr's jangling guitar, New Order were the only band worthy of the accolade "cool."
Why else do I like New Order: the Hacienda, Peter Saville, Joy Division, Electronic, Factory - need I go on?
