About
Dive Geek, Broadway bartending homo, Snake handler, ex-music industry jerk off. Bought Joy Division stuff as it came out as teen in bumfuck, PA. Saw New Order for the first time at the Paradise Garage on Prince St. in NYC in, what, 1982? The tickets were really cool looking and I think olny sold at 99 Records. Gillian actually ASKED me if I'd like the records I was holding signed and took them back for me. What a sweetheart.. Billy Idol was really fucking drunk. The club was good and the doormen were lovely to my teenaged ass (which, btw, obvously makes my listed age bullshit ).
Bumped into Mr. Hook by accident backstage at the Philly New Order/PiL/S'Cubes show and nearly pissed myself because I'm such a fag.
Oddly enough, it was "Get Ready" that got me interested in seeing "24 Hr Party People" and not the other way around. It is such a great fucking record, I'm shocked it wasn't huge here.
Why New Order?
Because they're really good.
