About
Born and raised in England. Moved to the USA when 14 in 1984. Not only was it a new country but it was rural 'BFE' Tennessee, the home of country music. The area sure as sh*t didn't know what New Wave or electronica was. I had to special order anything New Order related and half the time still couldn't get it. Went into major withdrawal pangs for the mother land which just sucked me in deeper into the New Order/Joy Division lyrics and just made me love the music more. Moved back to England in '86 and proceeded to load up on all the New Order I had missed for two years. However, moved back to the States in '87, again to BFE, TN to more New Order drought and have struggled ever since to stay on top of the music. Have moved all over the South East since then and have spent time working out of Detroit, MI and Boston, Mass. Now working in Winston-Salem, NC but still living just outside North Myrtle Beach, SC, the Redneck Riveria.
Why New Order?
First became a New Order fan in '83 with Blue Monday and Confusion. Started back-filling collection with earlier songs. At the same time, Paul Young's album 'No Parlez' was out which had a cover of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' which I just fell in love with. Discovered this was a Joy Division song and finally put the two bands together and begun collecting Joy Divison records as well. Haven't been able stop from that time. Both bands seem timeless to me and whenever I travel anywhere and pass a music store I have to stop to see if there is any New Order/Joy Division material that I don't already have.
