David Potts release new single featuring Peter Hook

Mancunian songsmith David Potts is back with his second solo single. The brand new double A-side features the cheeky, melodic, hook-filled 'Monkey In The Rain', and it's brother 'Roll Up!' which is lifted from his recent debut album features ex-cohort Peter Hook (New Order) on bass. Both uplifting, both energetic, both foot-tapping, and both head-nodding psychedelic tinged guitar pop! This single follows the recent success of his album ‘Coming Up For Air’ and the stomping debut single 'I'm The Greatest' – the reviews speak for themselves.

This single follows the recent success of his album ‘Coming Up For Air’ and the stomping debut single 'I'm The Greatest' – the reviews speak for themselves.

The new single is available as a 4 track eSingle and a limited edition CD EP and also features two new unreleased tracks 'Minion' and 'I'm Not Sleeping'.
All four songs were recorded, produced, and performed almost entirely by Potts
himself with mixing and mastering from Tom Knot (The Earlies) at Airtight,
Manchester.
So why a double A-Side ? “Both songs are strong singles but would probably sit
on different playlists,” says Maximum Records’ Rich Torr “ ‘Monkey in the Rain’
has that summery 60’s sound whereas ‘Roll Up!’ will appeal more to New
Order/Monaco fans – it went down a storm when Hooky & Pottsy reunited for the
Nordorff Robbins charity gig!”. Potts offers a more personal view: “I’ve always
wanted to release a single which wasn’t on the album and ‘Monkey’ is a crowd-
pleaser live. You’d probably guess that I’m a massive Beatles & Jam fan and
they did it all the time on double A’s!”

The A-sides are nicely complemented by psychedelic duo ‘Minion’ and ‘I’m not
Sleeping’, both tracks having the lo-fi experimental echos of previous Ram
release ‘Different Planet’ with Potts revealing a more reflective writing style.

The eSingle is distributed by Genepool is available through all Universal
Distribution digital platforms including iTunes and 7Digital.
