INTERVIEW WITH PETER HOOK IN THIS WEEK'S "7 MAGAZINE"

There's an interview with Hooky in this week's '7 Magazine' (Issue 141, has a cover of a superhero dressed in red with 'Vive La France' on his chest).

In it, he mentions topics such as the upcoming film, Get Ready, Joy Division, The Smiths (some interesting quotes here), as well as interesting tidbits about the upcoming Finsbury Park gig and also new material:

So what's the massive Finsbury Park gig about?
"A Manchester extravaganza. It's the only gig we're doing in England this year and the idea is to get all the Manchester bands on with us that we think are current. We've got up and coming Manchester bands like Hanky Park and older bands like The Doves and are trying to get Badly Drawn Boy aboard."

Are you working on new New Order material?
"We'll be starting work on some new stuff. Like the track we've just done with The Chemical Brothers says, we're 'Here To Stay'."

And how did you make that track with the Chemicals?
"New Order wrote a backing track which was very acoustic and The Chemicals took it away and made it dancier. It was nice and easy to work with them although I donb't think the bass is loud enough on the record - some things never change."

He also expresses an interest in Curtis Mayfield - listens to Curtis and the Gamma Rays whilst decorating the place!

l8rs,

Nick ;-)
