Move Festival Review
Manchester's Move Festival ended with the cities biggest bands playing at their best. NEW ORDER, DOVES and ELBOW were greeted at Old Trafford Cricket Ground with thunderous applause.
Elbow got the day off to an impressive start and Doves kept everything moving nicely.
But there was no doubt who the stars were! New Order's Barney Sumner and Peter Hook may be fatter and wrinklier, but their set was outstanding. Opening with Love Vigilanties - then Crystal (their best single in years) the place lit up with lasers and a sea of clapping hands.
They played all their hits, including Bizzare Love Triangle, Touched By The Hand Of God, True Faith and Joy division's Transmission. Football anthem World n Motion saw comedian Keith Allen join them to do the John Barnes rap. Add an encore of the recent Blue Monday / Can't get you out of my head remix, and you had one amazing night.
