New Order Announce Brotherhood: Definitive Edition
The Brotherhood Definitive Edition arrives 22 November in 2CD, 2DVD and vinyl formats. It features nine unreleased tracks from a 1985 Japan session and live footage from Brixton, G-Mex and Glastonbury that's never been officially available before.
Brotherhood, New Order's fifth studio album, originally emerged via Factory Records in September 1986 and reached #9 in the UK Albums Chart. This Definitive Edition continues the reissue programme established with Movement, Power, Corruption and Lies, and Low-Life, assembling the album in multiple formats alongside material that has remained in the vault for nearly four decades.
The centrepiece is the 2CD edition, which appends 9 unreleased tracks and demos recorded during a 1985 Japan session—territory that has never seen official release. Alongside this, a 2DVD package draws together live performances spanning Brixton Academy, G-Mex Manchester, Glastonbury Festival, and television broadcasts from the UK and Europe, all of which have previously eluded DVD release. Warner Music will also reissue the album's three 12" singles—Bizarre Love Triangle, State Of The Nation, and Touched By The Hand Of God—with their original b-sides.
