Coogan meets inspiration behind 24 Hour Party People

Comedian and actor Steve Coogan came face to face with the man he plays in his latest film, 24 Hour Party People.

The movie tells the story of Manchester's legendary Hacienda club and the Factory Records label.

Coogan met Factory's founder Tony Wilson at the movie's world premiere in London.

One onlooker said: "Steve must have done a good acting job because the pair ended up kissing each other."

Other stars at the premiere included musician Chrissie Hynde, artist Tracey Emin, comedian Keith Allen, actress Jane Horrocks and members of the bands Toploader and Chemical Brothers.

Chris Coghill, who plays Bez, Danny Cunningham, who plays Shaun Ryder, and Paul Popplewell, who plays Paul Ryder, also attended the premiere.

The film is released nationwide on April 5.
