Obviously I couldnt include every single Beatles hit, & I didnt include the ones that were released as singles in the USA but not the UK ('Eight Days A Week', 'Long & Winding Road' etc...)

Its probably an unpopular choice seen as how the Beatles "reunion" in 1995/96 was deemed a failure by Fab Four purists, but Id say my favourite from the above list is 'Real Love'. I just think its a nice love song & a fitting, touching tribute to the legacy of a band, like em or not, whose success won`t ever be matched by any other musical artist(s) ever again. Not even you, Oasis!

My sentiments exactly.

i am not a big beatles fan but i really like a day in the life and im pretty sure that wasnt a single, and by the way the real paul died ina car crash in 1967 so do you hate him or the imposter paul?

I'm a huge Beatles fan, so this sort of list is a bit hard to decide on. My all-time fave is Hey Jude, but it's a bit on the long side for a single.

And Paul obviously isn't an imposter, judging by the massive ego-driven "switcheroo" he's trying to pull (McCartney/Lennon instead of Lennon/McCartney). He's the tosspot of the group. :mad2:

I really never cared for the early Beatles stuff. I Wanna hold Your Hand et al was their Duran Duran phase--fat chicks chasing them around screaming. Nothing too original and ripping of Yank rock, protypicalboyband. I think they hit their mark when they started doing drugs, their music and creativity certainly picked up after Bob Dylan started rolling them joints. Abbey Road, St Pepper and Yellow Submarine are my three fave Beatle albums. The White Album seemed like their solo work.

RE Beatle Tossers. Paul was the only one that really did anything after the break up. Sure, George had a few good tunes but nothing really noteworthy other than the song he was found guilty of stealing. Ringo never had any talent. John was a fuck up, nothing lost with his death, he should have died long before. Sure Paul comes across as an asshole but his legacy is much better. Just listen to Abbey Road and tell me that he sucks. He carried that fucking band.

Yes, way overrated. I'm a Grateful Dead/New Order man myself.

I'd have to say "Come together" from Abbey Road. Not a bad album, although my parents did buy me it to get me into "popular" music. Overall, though, I'm not a fan of them, since most of their albums I've listened to from friends have bored me a bit. Kind of like Nirvana - way overrated but, nevertheless, considered one of the greatest bands of all time. Personally, I'd listen to New Order any day over the Beatles.

Since "None of the above or any of the rest of their shite for that matter" wasn't included in the options, I voted "other".

Could never, ever take to any of their stuff, or any members solo stuff.

I think the first reply summed it up nicely.:thumb:

Gee... people not liking the Beatles, that exists? :D

Well, I don't listen to them on regular basis, but I have to say it's probably the best music from the 60's, so it's useful when you bring your parents to your house ;)

I picked Hey Jude.. however it should have been Hey Jule since this song is written for Julian Lennon...!

Ah well..

Of course, this thread made me think of that ol' US hardcore classic from Tesco Vee and The Meatmen, and the instant classic 1 Down, 3 To Go. No points guessing who it's about.

Chapman shot him dead- Plugged him in the head. No more slope-eyed wife to fuck. No more 'squito bites to suck.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck Fuck the Beatles! Smelly, hairy old people. Fuck fuck fuck fuck Fuck the Beatles Smelly, hairy old people.

Lennon's dead, hip-hip hooray! All his dues he now must pay. George, Paul, Ringo-any day- Will be dead we all must pray.

CHORUS

A paunched-out hippie fart he was. A pot smoking scumbag, Bespectacled old scuz. His panface gook'n fuck so me stud; Insurance money all covered in blood.

CHORUS

One year later They paid their respects, Prayed for his soul, Then went home and had sex. Hipocrites, all of them- The worst kind of drugged-out phlegm

Myself, I don't mind the Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever one.

I'm always amused whenever I find the lyrics for that featured in English books, in the poetry section! Great song, love it...

Pity "Revolution" couldn't be on the list, it was the B-side of Hey Jude unless I've completely lost my mind (which is possible). The whole 1968 era is great for anyone sick of the "She Loves You" sound. You can't NOT like the White Album :nonono:

My favourite Beatles song is called (i think) "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away", the rest of their stuff is to familiar, and the Rolling Stones were way better back then.

Im kinda with everyone else when I say I have never been much of a Beatles fan but more a Stones fan....however, I did like Revolution until it was made into a Nike commercial a few years back. And I do have an original single of Hey Jude that my mom had from way back when and it is not horrible

I grew up with Abbey Road in my brother's collection and there are some good experimental songs on there. Besides that I've never really taken to them.
