Frank Black mentioned in an interview that he and the other Pixies band members get together every once in a while to play the old tunes, and he'd like to do a reunion sometime, but he's afraid no one would show up (yeah right!). So that interview created a big buzz that they were going to do a reunion tour and I naturally got really excited.
Then, a "source close to the band" reported that the Pixies would be getting back together to record a double album of Latvian children's lullabies and would then go on a world tour of all countries starting with the letters "Cz".
So, it looks like the Pixies are having the last laugh yet again, so we'll have to wait a little longer for that reunion. ![]()
Do you really believe Frank Black is serious about that?
Quoting the man himself on a recent website posting: "The Pixies will get together later this year to record a new double album of Latvian children's lullabies. After which they will tour every country whose names begins with the letters Cz".

That looks pretty close to how I remembered it. And, of course, no, I do not think for a moment that Mr. Black/Francis/Thompson is serious about much of anything concerning a Pixies reunion. But it would be positively badass, would it not?
Just read this on MTV - haven't seen any other sources yet, but I'm sure if it's true it will be all over the place within hours: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1478034/20030909/pixies.jhtml?headlines=true

Oh. My. God.
Okay, I'm holding my breath but the fingers are not also crossed, as this could be another hoaxish thing like the last one.
But if not, I'm creaming my jeans already. ![]()
If the money is right......
and it will be well worth seeing. I caught a few of their 1989 and 1990 UK shows, and they were awesome.
Echo you Tim, saw them 4 times including Crystal Palace (not the best venue), awesome live in the right venue, "I am the son of a ......" ![]()
I remember seeing them at Portsmouth in 89 sort of time. Gig seemed to be running constantly at about a million miles an hour. Memorable for the fact that they came back on to do the encore, but the house lights had come on, a tape was playing and people were already leaving. Francis and Santiago looked at each other for a moment, and decided to carry on anyway...
Looks like it will really happen...the rumours are getting stronger anyway. I guess it all depends if Frank Black and Kim Deal are able to get along. The break up was pretty ugly. But if NO can do it...why not the Pixies! :D
a Pixies reunion....hmmm...if that is true...then this monkey's gone to heaven...
might have to plan a vacation around this if they won't come to Dallas...
this would be a must see!!!
Pixies reunion? Come now, be serious! ![]()
Everyone knows that Dave Lovering cannot commit himself as he is now a celebrated professional magician and illusionist. Yes - and I'm speaking to you Mr Blaine, you jumped up talentless piece of overhyped crap! Here's hoping lots of Cockney urchins spend the next month taking pot shots at you whilst youre hanging there above the River Thames - that's a temptation too good to resist if you ask me.
I thought Blaine had given up?
They told him 44 days in a box doing nothing was never going to beat the record, which currently stands at 4 years and is held by Emile Heskey.
Taxi!

How old is that joke already? I've seen it on three different threads each posted by a different person - on this forum alone!!! ![]()
