about copy control

Does anyone know how I can crack or bypass the "copy control" system that new CDs have?

i saw in the newspaper that one copy control system could be bypassed by marking the outter edge of the disc with a black felt pen. though, i wouldn't recommend doing that until you got a second opinion.

another way: install "CDEX" and convert the songs to mp3-files. with nero you can "re-convert" them to audio files and burn it on cd!

the new doves album - lost sides - has it, not tried to copy it, but hadnt heard of this before. ineveitable they'll try something, but also that there will be ways round it

Didn't know about the "shift" key trick, but I can confirm that if you don't install the player software then you can copy the disc just like you would any other.

Didn't realise I was being clever by not installing the software, it's just that I don't listen to music on my PC, so didn't see the need for it...
