My computer's infected with spyware - whatever the heck that means. So, I can't go online, or use any application that needs the internet, and I've got to use the computer lab to type up my papers. It wouldn't be such a bad fate if a) I knew where to get adaware without having to go online (I can't burn CDs in the campus computer lab) b) I wasn't so addicted to the internet and this forum, and c) That I didn't have to listen to sound files for my history class, since the computers here don't have sound. I honestly have no idea how my computer got infected with spyware, but, right now, it takes about 20 minutes to boot up and I can't run most of the applications on it. So, it's going to be a while before I actually start making a whole bunch of useless posts, or checking this forum more than once a week. :computer2: :banghead:

That's a shame, I don't think I'd be able to cope without my comp.

I've been getting viruses the past 2 weeks Norton scanned my hard disc....very suspicious :skeptic:

As you can see, I can't cope either. So, instead of writing out my paper by hand and reading for history, I'm in the computer lab on here. I just hope, as soon as I get a hold of this adaware program, that it doesn't destroy any of my files. I kind of want to keep the video for TPK and a video of the smashing pumpkins playing "bury me" in drag from about 12 years ago. But, if it restores my computer, it restores it.

I'm a little late chiming in on this, but try a program Spybot Search and Destroy. It's a free download and I believe you can find it easily at www.download.com. Works like a champ! :thumb:

Thanks for the links, but the main problem with my computer is that I can't get on the internet. I'm using the computers in the campus lab right now and none of them can burn a program onto a disc unfortunately. I tried ad-aware, after a tech support center burned it onto a CD for me, but that's not working either. So, pretty much I have to wait until next week to take my computer to them. Which doesn't really help me right now since I have a paper due on Monday.
