And now for the Weather

"The falling leaves drift by the window, the autumn leaves of red and gold,
I see your lips, the summer kisses, the sunburned hands, I used to hold.
Since you went away, the days grow long, and soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all, my darling, when autumn leaves start to fall..."

Poetry in MOTION.....![]()
It's PERFECTLY autumnal, I should have said. Crisp air, breeze, and the trees are losing their foliage.
(And that's a song that Frank Sinatra sang. Do not disparage Frank in my presence.)

OK, but you'd better leave soon... :D
That's right! Don't make me pull this bulletin board over and talk to you two!
(I rather like the idea of using song lyrics for the weather. Too bad there's no New Order lyrics on the top of my head that cover the meteorlogical end of things.)
(And I was in your town a couple of weeks ago, bLuE oRdEr. Nice place.)
Oh, oh, oh, watch it.
Frank was just great. Sure, he made music a lot of NOOL people will dismiss, but you can't deny that the man could sing a song well and properly and managed to be classy in the worst of situations.
(This has nothing to do with weather.)
Without mentioning any names, I have this thing against pussy entertainers who pick fights and then have their bodyguards beat the other guy up. Nothing at all to do with my impression of their entertainment talents.
(Off Topic)
Frank's Bodyguards wouldn't LET Frank finish fights he started, which is a testament to their loyalty. If you want, you can pretend I was quoting "Autumn Leaves" by Coldcut. That mix by Irresistable Force is quite amazing.
(On topic.) I think we've got wind and cold in our future tonight.
(off topic)
I still think there's something repulsive about an entertainer picking fights, knowing that he's going to be bailed out by the bodyguards before he gets his clock cleaned, and knowing that those bodyguards will be cleaning the other guy's clock. Totally repulsive.

I'll look forward to your visit.
And the best Sinatra is still Phil Hartman, with caustic comments for "Skinhead" O'Connor, "Potatohead" (Bono), sending Steve and Edie over to beat up Billy Idol, and his reverence for the artistry of Luther Campbell. The best memories yet of Sinatra. Everything else is just pops and buzzes, baby!

I keep hearing people around here saying that New York City gets more rain than we do out here, though the problem here is that we get more rainy days than they do. Go figure.

You tell him, Chairman!
But I guess Sinatra has something that can be said for him: Wilson wanted Curtis to sing like him on LWTUA or something like that.

I'm quite sure we appreciate summer more with rough winters..
Usually temperatures are -10 average, but February is just brutal.. it can get in the -20... that's cold.. and that doesn't include the wind factor!

What a fuckin' suprise that was today...
Started out as fairly warm, though I was battling high water everywhere due to clogged drains and heavy rain on my way to work this morning. Since I spend a great deal of my working day in a warehouse, I could feel the temperature drop quickly as the morning wore on, and voila, lots of SNOW, which is quite unusual for November round here. Though most of it's gone now, hope that all of the kids who could got to make the most of it.
Snow again. Snowed two nights ago, and now again tonight. That's probably not a big deal for the United Britain and other northern countries in December, but it's rather rare in these parts.
Snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh feck, I have to walk home through that.
Walk was the operative word. I walked for 40 minutes to get to the nearest bus stop, waited 45 minutes before I realized the buses aren't running due to a couple inches of snow, and walked back to work. Now I'm stranded, unless I call a cab. Feck me.
