Oingo Boingo appreciation thread

Yeah, that's right. It's good for your soul. One of the best bands ever, the brainchild of composer extraordinaire Danny Elfman (well, actually his brother Richard if you want to trace the group back to the beginnings of the Mystic Knights)....but anyway, one of the great bands of the 1980's that is no longer with us. I rarely see them mentioned on here (as their popularity was primarily in America), so now I shall. Fun music by crazy people, for crazy people. Highly recommended (especially the older stuff). :D

If you have no Boingo, run out and buy "Boingo Alive," a greatest hits double set recorded live on a soundstage (no audience). Awesome.

I will always like Boingo since they are a good Socal band, plus "Dead Man's Party" is one of the coolest songs ever.

What a band! What a name! If you at least don't own Good For Your Soul you need to go buy it right now... go ahead... These guys had an incredible sound that is all their own.

For those of you tempted enough to get into the Boingo, I'd recommend the two older best-of albums: Skeletons in the Closet (1981-84) and Best O' Boingo (1985-90).

Weren't they the band that played in Rodney Dangerfield's movie Back To School? I like 'em just fine from what I've heard , though I never bought any of their albums back in the day.

I got the best of about 4 or 5 years ago. A very nice american band. Despite of being an american band.
