Sicily...anyone been?

oh i'm sorry, i happen to live quite in Sicily, just outside Palermo ...i was browsing for artists and i found the site of one of my oldest fave bands..... i guess that you have to arrive here by plane from London , if you live in U.k., but if you want to stop in the two main cities of italy, this will permit to have more frequent flights . we have 2 great airports[Palermo-punta-raisi][Catania-fontanarossa]. if you already went to italy, you will like it, especially if you like some spanish-like athmospheres.. and.. sorry, the prices depends on the italian economy, which is linked to the north regions factories. it isn't mafia deciding that.and it all depends on the fact that we are part of the EURO area, since italy changed the money tohgheter with other countries. in Sicily the prices are generally less expensive than the other cities of italy. you will discover this when you'll arrive here... if you walk in our streets you hardly find shots in the streets or bloody events. tourists got generally no probs, as it may be in all other places...cause the mafia does not like to show itself pubblicly. if you are looking to see that...i guess you will be disappointed, sorry. i wish you a good staying here....

Not been to Sicily shugz but have been to Rome and am going for 3rd time in february 2003 Very romantic capital and you could even get engaged there as we did. Sicily would be lovely as well though, beautiful countryside and nice people so I have heard

Never been abroad myself, would like to see Sicily and all of Italy, really. England's number one for any future tourist trips, but Italy, Germany (ancestral homeland) and France aren't far down on the list

I've been there! Or at least where it was filmed. Same with where Twin Peaks was filmed. Both are up here in Washington. :p

If you're into old ruins and the like, Agrigento is the place to go in Sicily. It is one of the most outstanding archaeological sites in Europe and has a bunch of 5th and 6th century Greek temples the like and condition of which exist nowhere else in world including, arguably, Greece.

I`ve been on a day visit thing there (it isnt very interesting to be honest),that was about 6 years ago though. I would highly recommend Sardinia instead-thats where i went,its gorgeous.
