In repsonse to that no good gigs in belfast in 2003 thing. You may be interested to know that Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are playing in Mandela Hall on Tuesday 17th February. From what i understand, this is not a Student event, just a way for Queens to stick two fingers up to the students who enjoy the quiz on tuesday.
Tickets should be on sale tomorrow, or even today on ticketmaster. At £16. So there you go...
Heard about it last night; I've been waiting for a Belfast gig from those boys for ages. :D Tried to get tickets today but they're not out yet. Going to keep trying.

Got mine today... of course the big belfast gig related news is that the Coral have rescheduled their gig for Mandela on 20th Feburary. I wont be going.
Ordered mine last night off Ticketmaster; yippee! :D Won't be going for The Coral either; I don't like them apart from Pass It On. Were you going to go before the gig was rescheduled?
Nope. The Coral are one of these NME hyped bands who everyone at Queens loves on the grounds that they do not have the intellectual capacity to think for themselves. Therefore, the gig will be full of pricks thinking its the best thing since sliced bread...
Actually, I have yet to recieve any confirmation on the Coral. I was told by one of the university higher ups that they canclled the Ulster Hall gig, which was changed from the waterfront because of poor ticket sales, was changed to mandela because of... erm... poor ticket sales. The University will no doubt hype this up, and all the little kids will go wild for some of the most boring music known to man.

Are the Queens lot really that dumb? I always got the impression that they were pretty smart and were able to think for themselves. Shows how much I know!

Queens, Intelligent? Hah! Tell you what, on th eday of the gig, you should go up the speakeasy bar and just watch and listen to everyone. sights you'll see and hear...
A complete bunch of idiotstaking up a load of tables talking about absolute nonsense. The Mature Students officer wandering around aimlessly looking for people to talk to. Crap music. Lots of it. Even though BRMC will be playing. They will only play rubbish music. When the complete stone roses played, we were up in there, and the DJ just played pop rubbish, even though all the normal 'clientele' had buggered off for the weekend. Me in a New Order t-shirt getting absolutely hammered even though my dissertation will be due in two weeks later.

Assuming you're going to be in the Speakeasy Liam, I'm not sure if I'll go up there (I want to get into the main hall as early as possible so I can get a good place to watch what's happening). Hopefully I'll see you about, though.
