Gotta love winter.. part deux

Although we're not as cold in NYC as you are, I'm wondering what happened with this global warming thing and trying to figure out why it's supposed to be such a bad thing? I'm freezing my ass off and could use a little greenhouse gas atmosphere blanket over here!

Not as cold here, but we've been snowed in 3 days straight now. Everything's closed, bus routes not running, etc.

Friday 53. Sunday 18 and the first real snow, 8 inches. Monday 3 at noon. Tuesday morning -3. Winter has a way of sneaking in and biting you on the ass.

To those that live in Canada, I salute you brave souls. That is a hell of a price for health care.

Spring is near, maybe.

So wifey decides to drive #2 son to Wal-Mart during our snow strom. She is almost hit by another vehicle but hit the curb instead. Unfortunately, sidewall gash. guess who gets to change the tire in the freezing snow storm??? I decide to use my 2.5 ton floor jack instead of the POS Mercury provides. But the wheel will not come off the van. I end up using a hammer to motivate the wheel's departure.

Now this is on Sunday. I have to drop the wheel off on Monday and replace it that eve when it is colder.

It's only 20F degrees in Philadelphia, but this morning, the heat in my mother's house was shut off. It came back on again later, but I decided not to get out of bed until it did. At least there isn't any snow on the ground. Yet.

I would like to melt down my arse in South America because right now it's frozen rock solid...

Personally, I'd rather live where Spotnick lives than Haiti. But that is just me.

Trust me, right now you do not want to be anywhere near Haiti. An accident waiting to happen there. Either Aristide will be ousted or he will indulge in some opposition culling. One way or the other better to endure the cold.

I am here in sunny San Diego :D; I am having the best Winter weather I have ever had.

Strangest description I've heard yet for heavy (I presume) snow, but a good 'un none the less!

Wouldn't mind having any of the extremes mentioned in this neck of the woods, at least you know where you stand! At the moment here it's just all over the place. Take any, or combination, of freezing/mild/gale force winds/pissing rain/overcast/sunny and you could probably sum up every day since Christmas.
