Kids eh? My daughter (20 months) won't listen to anything other than Bob The Builder, but my son (3) is learning. He likes Thin Lizzy's Whiskey In The Jar and Nickleback in general (his mother's influence) and Kraftwerk, even though he can't say it properly, when he's in the car with me. He even came out with "I really love this one, Dad" when Ceremony was on the other day, so obviously I had to pull over and buy him an enormous ice-cream.
Right now, however, it's Alma Mater by The Stockholm Monsters.
Scissor Sisters - Only played about 5 minutes of it so far. Franz Ferdinand - Not my bag so far, The new Ocean Colour Scene anyone? Soundtrack - Excellent Outkast - There's about 35 tracks on this, I'm sick of hearing the single on the radio, I bought the album on the strength of it, I don't think I've heard it whilst playing the c.d. yet. Not blown away so far. Oh and I burned that concert that was on Old Blue's server. Nice one Clive.
"Hate Is All You Need" - The Delgados has just finished and now we've got "Oops Oh My" by Ladytron. Nice.
Roots Manuva is getting a few spins lately. But mostly sit there thinkin fuck what can i play? lookin at a mass of cds & vinyl. But you thread has just made me decide to give Renaissance mix collection a whirl-thanks!
Last night, played the new Stereolab CD plus the UK CD of Sulk by the Associates, bought in a discount bin at Tower last week, and which is a totally different beast from the US lp, the latter being mostly comprised of the singles of the time.
This morning, it's the dub stuff from the Don Letts Trojan compilation, great stuff on a sunny Saturday morning.
Right now - a Best of Billy Bragg compilation put together by my favourite cuz ShugZV.

ok nothing if u must know! i havent got one, well i have but its had a cd jammed in it (JD tribute album) for about a year now so i play cds through my pc or ps2 when i do, but tend to listen to minidiscs instead as my cd is broken - see above.

Scissor Sisters album is get a good go this week,plus ive got an advance copy of Youre Fit And You Know It by The Streets which confirms they are mustard.
Been listening to the LTM reissue of Section 25's "Love & Hate in the English Countryside" this afternoon. Forgotten what a great album this is - very overlooked. "From the Hip" is the S25 album to start with (superb Barney production) but L & H is a hidden gem. Any band that has the imagination to cover Erik Satie's "Gymnopidies" is OK in my book.
My mp3 player has just played Xiu Xiu's 'Don Diasco' and before that I was listening to 'Ice Age' and REM's 'Stand'

Hey, got my copy of Nothing a couple of weeks ago, and tis a very, very good read indeed, thanks for the recommendation; I was wrong about it being published here in the US, though. I'll check out the S25 album pretty soon, but I do seem to recall that a certain Gary Numan did a cover of that Satie piece that Bill Nelson termed 'blasphemous' for a b-side, not being a Numan fan, I couldn't tell ya though.

Geez, I've got that album, haven't listened to it in at least a decade, all I can recall is the wistfulness of My Shuttered Palace.
As for myself, the only things I played today was Mayors Of The Moon by Jon Langford And The Sadies, and Dragnet by The Fall, and I was reminded of one of my fave MES lines: "Do all these musicians have a social conscious? Well only in their frontrooms"
