Now, should I go? 
It's in the city's biggest club (if it still is), there is no seats, and the price is 47.65 $CAD which is a lot for this kind of venue...
But when is the last time Kraftwerk actually played in Montreal? It must be more than 13 years ago since in 1991 (as said to me Sebastien), they cancelled their gig at the last minute (when everybody was in the venue!)

Of course you should go! Kraftwerk was by far the best concert I ever been to in my life, better than the Order (just waiting for the flames now). Seeing Kraftwerk live is a truly jawdropping experience and you shouldn't miss it for anything!

If you're having 2nd thoughts then, no, don't go. This is about what YOU want, not what you/(we?) 'think' you should be doing. After all, I would never see Depeche Mode despite what YOU lot think!!!
Having said that, you'll regret this next month if you don't go get that ticket (you can always sell it on ebay!)..

Ah, spoke the voice of reason... You must be right, Al, as usual. A Kraftwerk concert is a great show for Kraftwerk fans, but I don't know if it's gonna work for someone who doesn't know the band.
It kinda reminds me when I was a teenager who just got into Joy Division and I started lending my albums to my friends saying "you must listen to this, it's awesome". Guess what? None of my friends at the time turned into Joy Division fans.

I'm having the same dilemma since last saturday... should I buy a ticket or not... I'm not convinced of the quality of this show.
I am not very fond of their last album, so I'm afraid it will be half of it in the setlist.

You've gotta go, if only to say you've been, whether you like it or not. I've no idea what their current live show is gonna look like but the visuals should be stunning cos they're still being sponsored by Sony, I believe.
Besides, what with half the board going to see them over here come March we'll all have something to talk about!!!
Actually, I'm not a huge fan of the new album either, Seb, but I doubt it'll dominate the live show at all. There's only six distinct tracks in there and one of them's really from 1983 - I'm interested to see how it'll pan out live but the highlights will still be your Models, Numbers, Autobahns, etc, which I'm sure will still be there. Their first gig is in one of the Scandy countries in just two weeks so we'll know soon enough what they're doing on this tour.
Well, I don't know many tracks from Kraftwerk actually, I can remember Radioactivity and Computer Love out of my head, but to be honest, I never went further.
I know WenOrder said to me it's the best show he ever saw (prior tour), and he looks like someone wanting to go to Montreal to see them as they don't do any US dates except Seattle and another west city, but I guess they will add new dates soon!
Well, I went to see Pink Floyd back in 1993 (was it?) and I didn't regret it even though I didn't know all their material.. so I might give this one a try, even if I'm not too keen on venue without reserved seats ;)

And Jarvo, would you want to know in advance what they're going to play? I made that mistake with New Order at Brixton, knew exactly what to expect, and it ruined it for me completely.

As for the tracklisting, yes, knowing in advance is a annoying, just as having a single 1 month before an album goes out...
I'm sorry but that ruined Crystal on Get Ready for me :D Well I should say it's having an mp3 6 or even more months before its release that might have ruined it for me.. it was old news when it was released...!
Nic, I think OB was intimating which member of KW you thought would want to sign RTP? You're probably more likely to get a smack in the face than a signature!!! ;)
OB, to be honest, I'm actually looking forward to seeing what's gonna be played at Helsinki, I think it is, next month as much as I am seeing 'em live. We might know what's coming next but I'm sure the arrangements will be different to what we've heard in the past. Can't really avoid the inevitable.

Hum, isn't Karl Bartos related to Kraftwerk? or did I miss something somewhere again and I've been living in a lie since 1996?
As far as I know, he did co-sign many songs on Raise The Pressure..

I'm not even sure of the relationship between him and Ralf/Florian nowadays. Not good I should imagine, considering that they've been quoted as simply working with various 'studio musicians' over their careers and failing to namecheck Bartos/Flur with any credit in Kraftwerk whatsoever. Might be a fair amount of animosity there (certainly towards Flur, perhaps not so much towards Bartos, although their recent stuff don't half miss his drum programming)..
Strange indeed. I don't think they can just ignore their contributions. They were part of the sound, that's for sure.
Thanks for having me thinking Al -- I'll definitly be going to see Kraftwerk for the first time in my life -- considering I had tickets for "The Mix Tour" in 1991 and learned of the cancellation of the show only once I got to the venue the night of the show, this will be like a revenge over the past -- and also living somewhat an adolescent dream.
Another thing that gets me going: the perspective of hearing Das Model be played by gigantic speakers -- think of *THAT* bassline!!!!
