Dunno about Sony as a company, but I've been wondering for years why no-one had bought out a higher density minidisk, given how much the capacity of hard drives and the like have increased since the original md. Long overdue if you ask me.
The ipod just seems completely daft to me, 330 hours of music with a 10 hour battery life? Isn't that a bit out of balance? And even that requires a bulky expensive custom-made rechargable. I prefer mp3 cd players or md players for the decent (80 hour+) battery life. And mp3-cd players are a lot cheaper than the mp3 jukeboxes, with dirt cheap media also.
