Trust me, you wouldn't want to live in Florida in summer...

Why would anyone want to live in weather that resembles a sweaty armpit? The best areas in the country are Santa Barbara and northern San Diego (including the towns just north as well Del Mar, Solana Beach). Also if you are not 21 yet, Tijuana is nearby for the leisurely teenage drunkard

It's nearer to my spiritual home, the Caribbean. That's the only reason I would want to live there.

Well, I have lived in Florida... sorry, lovely Agent, but that place sucks. Especially if you come from Rio.

David seems to be a complete wacko, but he was very kind to me the time was getting nuts looking for the fuckin' limited Retro... which I finally bought with the tips I got from THIS forum.:D

If I were him, I would spend my money with chicks and drinks... which I already do, but not so much as I would if I have his cash.:smoking:

Can't say for sure that he's a chick sort, having met him :evil4:

In a perfect world, there would be only one New Order website, but well, there is two! (two complete, there are specialized sites such as the wonderful New Order Discography website of course ;)

*In a perfect world there would be as many New Order sites as possible. While doing Movement, the New Order links list on my poor personal site, I really enjoyed browsing sites of all kinds dedicated to New Order and related bands, and I think everyone can do their thing without any competition. All we would need is an official site, a true one, with updated news, and then some good fan sites like this or World In Motion. Also I like how many people expressed their passion doing their own thing, no matter if with the latest Flash technique or through a visual HTML wizard... Actually I miss more sites, time ago we had some like True Faith which were very good, and it was nice browsing them all. In a perfect world, on the other hand, there would be only one place for discussion. At the moment it seems it happening de facto with this forum, so it's alright. But there where times when I had to

  • check the Ceremony digest
  • check the alt.music.new-order newsgroup
  • check the WIM forum
  • check this forum
  • And there'd be other places like the Brotherhood Yahoo! Group, the Joy Division Central forum etc. You know, it really did take time. And what about having to post the same message four times, knowing that some people are on more than one place and will probably get tired of reading it more than once? I think that, while doing all your own sites, you should find a common ground for a forum with a neutral moderator, preferably one that allows you to have E Mail messages as well, so we can keep the most important without having to save them to a text file. Why don't you all do a meeting, Warren, Nicholas and David, and decide what to do, to create the place where all New Order fans can meet? I've always respected you all and admired what you've done. While competition about sites is OK, I really think there should be only one forum.

This site is good enough for me, its got everything worth knowing about neworder within its walls - and besides i cant be arsed to check 2 sites when anything put up on WIM is up on here within 10seconds in anycase ;)

ps: shouldnt this be on the main forum....

LOL, that is my yahoo group that i created back in 98! Sorry, i was surprised anyone mentions it anymore. It actually was pretty active back when i first started it, but quickly died down after i banned a member. I think i pissed everyone off. These days it's full of posts from pornographers.

After a couple years of neglect, i finally had to go and resurrect it because the member kept complaining about the porno mail that originated from the group. :(

*Well, this happens because other people, unlike you, bother to go there and check the news to report :p But I wasn't strictly thinking about news, I was thinking about debate as well, mere discussion posts aren't certainly reported and can be interesting, though this forum is really active and fun. :thumb:

*Who did you ban? Eddie Colton? ;) Why?

*Yahoo! Groups have always been my favourite way of forum on the Internet. They're like a mailing list but they've got also a web space for chat, files area, message post and archive etc. Yes, there's all the spam, but recently Yahoo! has adopted some measures: when you register you have to write a word you can only see from an image, that prevents the bots that were infesting the groups with their automated subscritpions. If that's not enough, you can set the preference that allows only subscriptions approved by the moderator, so when one of the bastards try to get in you don't approve (they're usually recognizable by nicks like cl1tl1ck3r or something  ). The only thing you miss are the smart graphics and the smilies, and the flexibility to organize it on multiple topics, like here I really like how there's a New Order forum, the off topic forum, the polls forum...
