Which Operating System do you run?

I am on Windows 98 Second Edition - Rock Solid

I have these and have tried em;

Windows XP Professional - Too many Bugs - naf XP Home - ok and on my second machine 2000 Advanced Server - Ok 200 Professional - also solid

Has anyone got a copy of of Windows 2003 Advanced Server I could try?

98 SE. XP takes up too much memory. When I get a new pc I will get XP and then spend a week deleting the unneccessary shit it has.

Twist I have both XP professional and Home , but prefer 98 sec edition, it is rock solid

Using XP PROF but like XP not too good.But it is my son's computer so he chooses.

XP Pro, and I held out and used Win 2K for longer than I ever should've....or maybe my old motherboard/CPU was bunk, but oh well :p

Currently downloading Windows Advanced Server 2003 from kazaa.

Will install and test it out when download complete.

I use 98 First Edition which is OK, but can't work with more and more current software. 98SE seems to be as far back as compatibility goes in a lot of cases.

Good thread to write a little thing:

I'm now changing to a P4 2.4Mhz and 256Mb RAM. The guy also installed XP Pro in the place of the 98 SE I used.

Result: I'm now a whole week far from my computer

First was the MP3 sound - no one could explain why it was not playing MP3.

Then the mouse didn't work.

Then the guy changed the mother board... and then the XP could'nt recognize my slave HD :sleep2:

Conclusion: typing only from my office, I can say nevermind the XP and hail to the 98 and 2000...

Win 98 SE. Out of the older Windows systems, it's possibly the hardest one to fix if something goes wrong. Actually, maybe some of you computer whizzes out there could help me. Here's what the problem is:

My dad downloaded Grokster onto our PC and it gave us no end of hassle; it took us weeks to get out most of the trash it put in. Even now, every time I double-click anything (e.g. to open a folder) a box comes up saying "This module was compiled using a trial version of Delphi. This trial has now expired". I can't find anything to do with Delphi in the system anywhere and I tried reinstalling Win98 and it still hasn't helped. I'm thinking this thing might be in DOS somewhere. Anyone got any ideas?

FDisk, then Reformat your hard drive and reload Windows.

I seem to be the only one who runs Windows ME, it's alright for what I need in a computer now. Haven't checked out what XP is like, so I don't know if I'm missing anything.

I liked ME, when it worked. It was the buggiest system I've eer used
