Lovely piece of work, I reckon, one of the most entertaining things I've seen in a while. Yes, Shane does look a bit worse for wear, but that's to be expected. Loved the bit where Phil is talking about their road manager, who'd confessed that he was surprised about how they managed to get anywhere in their drunken haze. "What's the worst job you could imagine? Oh, I was tour manager for the Pogues, great, " . Mr Cave comes off well in his interview about Shane.

Saw him at UCD last year. He mumbled from a wheelchair, and stood up at the end mumbled something along the lines of "wmwwmwnwm n up the rawmwnememwnem", a pro ira uttering of somesort, then he fell back into the wheelchair. Everyone elso seemed to think that was funny, and jumped along to the songs, i just felt sorry for the poor guy. totally fucked up. an irish shaun ryder?

Havnae seen it - but I will do eventually. There was a documentary on a couple of years back, ole Shane's put himself through the ringer over the years. Bless him, he's made some cracking tunes over the years with both The Pogues and The Popes!

You can see him on the Finsbury park dvd, bearded and wearing shades at the back of stage centre and wandering to the back of stage right, looks fine

ahhh... poor Shane. Did you read about him getting beat up in some London pub a few months ago? Judging from the NY Dolls photos, he looks much better than in the Documentary. I guess the Pub fight was the cause for the wheelchair. People exhault him as The Holy Spook but really, it's quite sad to see someone in that terminal condition. That could be me if I were ever nearly as talented as Shane & The Popes/Pogues.
