Having helped Alejo and Nic to translate an interview Peter Hook gave to a greek music website, i couldnt help noticing this reply to the question concerning his opinion at todays pop culture in music industry: "Music changes like cloth fashion mate! Go ask Darkness, they know better (laughs)."
I couldnt help wondering: Who are Darkness? whats so funny about them?
So, just today i downloaded an mp3 by them called "a thing called love" (or something like that). Someone told me its their biggest hit, not to mention its St. Valentine's today
.
After less than one min listen to it, all my questions were answered: not only the 80's we-all-would-love-to-forget fashion in clothes returns, but the music idioma represented by ppl such as Boston, Whitesnake etc does that too as well :D
As for why the Man was laughin, well, that was more than obvious to me ;).
Hope i didnt offend any ppl who possibly like Darkness, cos that isnt my intention, i just wanted to share my dissapointment that all the things that we faughted against in our youth (in music) and thought at some point we d never hear from them again, suddenly the seem to come back strong as before. Life..... ![]()
Why did Hooky suggest to ask Darkness about today's music fashion :evil4:

Their like a Karaoke version of Queen. Trust me you should be thankful you dont know who they are! ![]()
The above mentioned Darkness song that Elias dl-ed, was succesfully deleted ![]()
Though I have to admitt the vocals were a good laugh![]()
Don't worry Elias...The Darkness are a parody on that eighties rock thing, it's not a serious comeback of this type of music. It's much like Spinal Tap.
80´s?
for me it´s the pure 70´s glam rock comming again. like T Rex (Marc Bolan):

or Sweet:

or Slade:

I dont know Darkness' faces, and from what i ve heard, i wouldnt care anyway ;) . What i can say however is that T-Rex are at least bearable to my ears, this song i downloaded wasnt....
Anyway, my point is, if they are 70's glam, we need a new Johnny Rotten, if they are 80's, we need a new Shaun Ryder
