Bishop Jailed

There's a bishop here and a few months ago he ran some guy over. He ran from the scene, and three days later the cops took him in. He said he thought he had hit an animal...he was also found inebriated. The day after he hit the man, he went to get his broken windshield fixed without notifying the authorities.

He had his trial and was found guilty. But what should his sentence be?

He was always nice to me...I never thought he'd kill anyone. :(

He's only a lad, you really can't blame him. Only a lad, society made him. Only a lad, he's underprivleged (sic) and abused...perhaps a little bit confused.

Yeah, he was the first Catholic Bishop ever to be tried. I don't know though...I mean, he let quite a few of these priests slide for molesting children. Maybe this is God's way of getting back at him.

I know there's nothing more I hate than a pedophile.

What's your point, though? Would you like to see him go or not? And did the guy die, anyway?

  1. There is NO GOD.
  2. He got what he deserved.
  3. Religion will destroy all humanity.

  1. He got what he deserved.

*I can't understand the original question. I mean, he's a citizen as every other man, so treat him the same.

  1. Religion will destroy all humanity.

*Unfortunately I agree. Fundamentalism (of course Islamic, but also Jewish, Induist and Christian) is scarily dangerous. Much better if people made more sex...

should be sentenced just as anyone else would be. what are the acutal charges?

First, there's nothing at all wrong with religious faith. There is, in my opinion, womething terribly wrong with trying to impose one's own religious beliefs on others. Making your faith available for sharing with others, yes; imposing it, no.

Second, the Bishop in question hit a drunken pedestrian who was walking in the middle of the road. He never stopped his car, even though his windshield was shattered, and he took steps to cover up the evidence of damage to his car.

Here's the verdict

I was just seeing if you guys were into religion...or not. He should get the regular sentence, yes, but hmm...nevermind.

Just thinking if people would go soft on him because he's a holy man...being that he was "supposed" to only look out for the well being of others throughout his life. How one thing, one big thing has screwed him over.

I'm tired, nevermind. :(

I don't like sex.

Have you ever tried it?

I like discussing religion, but I also dislike it immensily, if you could only see what I mean. It's been used far too many times to cover up for shite everywhere, throughout history. But it's very unlikely we'll ever do without some, given our insignificance in the big picture is too much for us to take...

I love sex.

My avatar has nothing to do with me personally, but it does have some connection, I guess. I didn't make it. I just like the band.

Yes, I know sex is necessary, but not for me. I'm not looking for therapy...I don't think I am. Besides, I wouldn't waste my dinero on therapy.

Nah, Elijah Blue Allman. Cher's son. He's the lead singer of a band, DEADSY. He's a cool guy. The avatar refers to one of their songs. You should give them a listen. :)

You need help. You do. Touching someone is basically what we all live for. And the best experience in your life (with the right person and without any taboos). I hope you aren't Morrissey's sister. Hey, you may even not like it, but try at least... also first times can be VERY inferior (even unpleasant) to what you get with some experience (very pleasant ;) ), so be patient, the reward is worthy indeed. Really, I don't know, the mess in your mind is just too huge I don't think I could say anything really helpful, that's why you need serious help. Therapy may not be a proper term. Let's say counselling, to start. Luckily you're still young and you can discover real life. I don't know what brought you where you are, but it's about time to get outta there! First you have to discover if you deny the instinct or if you're totally deprived of that (don't you wanna touch the prettiest boy of your schoolmates?). Then deal with the mess. Face it. And win. You can. And life will be much better then.

That really made me want to throw up. Yeah...I may need some therapy or what have you. But, I don't really think I need ..."to touch the prettiest boy" ever. I cringe, literally, thinking about it. Yes, people are nice, at times, and yes a hug is appropriate here and there.

Perhaps you should just do what everyone else on here does, and stick to touching yourself!:D

As an English man, I find that the US has a very interesting split personality on the issue of sex: half the populace seem to get very upset about the existence of sex (Janet's boob outcry, for example) although clearly US population stats suggest that plenty of them have it! The other half do their best to get hold of as much of it as possible (if the spam in my inbox is anything to go by...).

Obviously, there must be Americans (even members of this site, who knows?) who have a normal healthy attitude to the whole subject, but they don't seem to get much press.

Perhaps I'll become a born-again virgin. And all this from someone from the country with the reputation of being the most sexually repressed...

I'd say we're confused, well not necessarily confused, but just covering it up...some how. I know a lot of people enjoy sex and seek it, but, like you said, Death of Art, there are those who find it offensive and something that should be hidden...more or less.

I just don't like the idea of it...so much so, it gets me ill.

To the internet point, I just roam around here and there for information.

Americans are funny... I know quite a few of them. Maybe I'm just lucky, for they in no way remind me of this madness everyone links to them when it comes to sex, though my impression is, after having been there a number of times, that individually they couldn't care less, but it's when they're in groups that this apparent need for everyone else's approval shows - many of them strike me as not really disgusted with it per se, but obsessed with being regarded as respectful somehow...

But this is very real, after all, because it is the main reason why americans who move abroad (down her, for instance) do so.

And isn't it ironic that though the age of consent in Holland is 16 (hence young birds like yourself can do what they please, including 'flicks'), the nastiest stuff I ever see usually comes from the US? (Ok, german films can be pretty naughty too...)

Hey, you're only 16...no need to be sexually active at that age.

But when you're older, when you're an adult, if you still feel the same way, you might want to think about figuring out what's going on with you that makes you feel that way.

And yeah, maybe you're just feeling under the weather.

Maybe you don't want boys becuase you like girls. Ever thought you might be a lesbian? There would be nothing wrong with it. About what Blue Order says, I couldn't disagree more. Maybe you don't do sex at 16, but you're definitely sexually active. At that age, is the explosion of desire, girls fall in love with just about every pretty male. That's why Take That had success. The most of the 16 years old girls of the planet wanted to make love with at least one of them. The teen idol market is based on that. Girls of that age want (not necessarily for sex, many girls wait much onger for their first time, but at least want love stories involving kisses etc.) that pretty singer, or that pretty actor, or that pretty sport champion, or that pretty schoolmate. And the most of them masturbate fantasizing about their objects of desire, there's nothing wrong with it, it's all natural and part of growing up. They also sometimes suffer very much for their passion. It's an early stage of love that can make us smile now we're older, but that's how it starts. Not that for young boys is different. At 16 I was terribly in love with a girl in my class, I saw her every day so you figure how I felt. Of course she already had a boyfriend. BTW 15 girls out of 17 were already making love with their boyfriends at that age. It's just that now we're about 30 and think: "Oh, 16, it's too early for that kind of things". But if you remember how it was when we were 16 it wasn't too early at all for the most of us, not including me, unfortunately I had to wait much longer, but certainly I was fully active on the desire front. It might just happen that someone of that age isn't yet interested from the other sex, they still think just about other things. But they're just delaying the moment and that's very, very different from being disgusted at the mere thought. That's the illness, not the thought of sex, but being disgusted by that thought, and that illness must be faced.

Maybe she's been brought up to believe sex is wrong? Just a thought.

Of course I thought about it, but this seems more like a personal thing. Education might have had a very important role, but it's not enough. But anyway, I don't want to talk about the reasons why she got at this stage, I guess they're very personal and she wouldn't like to discuss them here (and for them she needs qualified support, not a simple New Order fan). I'd just like to generally look at present and especially give her the input to face the problem and some hope for her future. I'm no one to judge her private life, I speak to her in general terms, as I would do with any other person with that problem.

I agree that both young men and young women at that age are feeling their hormomes, and are intrigued by romance and/or sex, whether they're straight or gay. My first time was when I was 15, with a 17 year old girl.

However, if a 15 year old girl says the thought of sex makes her ill, I don't think it's appropriate for a bunch of adults to encourage her to become sexually active. It's her choice to make as to when and whether she wants to be sexually active. If she's not interested now, she should be left alone. She's only 15. If the thought of sex when she's a little older, when she's an adult, still makes her ill, I advised her to explore that at that time-- meaning going to counseling to at least understand why the thought of intimacy makes her ill. I think it's appropriate to suggest that an adult seek professional help to understand those kinds of personal issues. I don't think it's appropriate to insist that a 15 year old girl either become sexually active or seek therapy. She's only 15. She needs the space to develop at her own rate.

Never said she must become sexually active now. She can wait all the time she wants and needs. That's not the problem. Just said she should seek help because she feels ill at the thought. That's the problem and we're not so distant on this, it's just maybe I haven't been clear enough. Maybe the difference is I think she must be helped now she's still young and it's easier to heal. Also, she's living right now (and not later) the problems that brought her at this stage. I know something about psychic problems and believe me, the sooner you face them, the better, the more you wait, the bigger they get. LATER it could be TOO LATE. Anyway be not afraid, the simple fact she's a New Order fan means she's very intelligent and sensitive, and this gives her more chances to get all this past her, so we can hope one day it'll all be alright. :thumb:

Enough talking about this, people; everybody should just have sex when you are ready and have the desire to do so. If you can't bear to think the thought of someone touching you let alone have sex with you, then I would assume something might have happened in your childhood to make you this way, whether it be a tragedy or simply the way you were raised; get help, since sex is normal. Too bad I am not getting any.

Hmmm, no I'm not attracted to girls, either. I'm just not attracted to people, not anyone I've come across or seen or heard about. I don't really care if I'm a lesbian, I could embrace that, it's just I don't really care at all about the whole issue. I was going to bring up the point already made that you guys/girls are a bunch of older people not really seeing where I've been. But, one person did throw in the thought so, that was cleared. Again, it's just something I could care less about, and even when thrown in my face such as my friends or whatnot, it gets me sick, not so much in...nevermind. It's too complicated.

Awww, you guys are so nice.

Put it this way, you are a music fan. Well, the 90% of songs are about love. And right now, billions of people are in love, or wish they were. They give birth for love, they die for love, they kill for love, they're happy for love, they're unhappy for love etc. Love is all around, as Wet Wet Wet, one of the most important Factory bands, said. :love2: :love2: :love2: You better join the universe, or think all those billions are wasting their time? I hope you won't waste your life. Love is life. You're not ready right now, maybe. All I wish to you is you start seeing the problem and face it to become ready one day. One day you'll make love with your boyfriend, and it'll be fantastic. Then, with your head on your boy's chest, you'll think "What did I write on that mad forum?" :D

OK, lied about Wet Wet Wet on Factory, but I'm right about everything else. That's all. See you. ;)

Lo, luv, why on earth did you decide to discuss something so private and personal in public? Honestly, I don't get that. Anyway, you must indeed be the double of Morrissey, though these days, at nearly 50, he claims to have finally shaken off this madness and got himself sombody, though who we can only guess (he was spotted at the Joyce case hearings with a young petite brunette, which rules out, I reckon, her being Linder Sterling - she's no longer young and she's pretty fuckin tall too). I know nobody's asked me, but I don't see anything wrong with a sexually-active 15 or 16 year old (especially if it relates to me on any level... :evil4: ). And Mike, are you not just chatting Lo up and looking for some intercontinental action? :evil4:

I wasn't aiming to discuss it really, but I don't find it personal or private...not around where I live. I just don't care enough to make it personal... Kids round here, 16-17 year olds, all they think about is getting it on or getting drunk or drugs. 15 years and up is when they start getting interested a bit more physically, and it doesn't stop as they get older. I don't think anyone is wrong or wasting their time with love, I just know its not something I'm too interested in...and I don't see my mind changing much in the future. Love is something I have for a lot of people, maybe too many, but everyone's bleak, everyone I know, and everyone is after sex, which sickens me. It's frustrating as hell, not so much my situation with it, but just how people fool around with something, I guess, as precious as Love. Maybe it's not love, and they all kid themselves, but once in that state of mind, even if it is false, they end up screwing themselves, in more ways than one, and they shatter. I know what has screwed me, and its from a twisted sense of love, different kinds, so I try and avoid it. Not necessarily because things stemmed from past events, just because I find no sense in it, for me. Not that intimate sort of love...that's just...I avoid it, not consciously, but people tell me I do. I nod, indifferenlty, because I don't care, and walk along.

Shit, I don't even know what I just said. :( But, last night at a party, I met this gay guy, and he was so comforting. I just watched him. I just watch people.

Well, Lo, maybe that's it. Maybe yer a voyer and gets off it by watching other people - what's wrong with that, anyway? Or whatever you've said so far? Nothing as far as I'm concerned. But do bear in mind that you perhaps think too highly of both Love and People - they're not as sacred, and it'll never get much better than this. Don't you know we're just animals who've learnt how to speak and stand up straight? But still animals?

Is that you on your profile? Cuz if it is, then this is a fuckin waste... :nonono:

*Who's Mike? Me? Well, no then. Not only I'm happy with my girlfriend, but I'm also about the double of her age! Also I don't need intercontinental flights for action, there's plenty of girls on Italian communities... ;) By the way she wouldn't certainly be an easy target! :D And mostly, I really wish she finds her way, and I'm not certainly on that way. I hope on that way there's some qualified help and meeting, when she's ready, a boy (of her age group) who makes her happy.

haha a voyer. nah, I just like to watch people. I don't get off on it. I don't find anything wrong with what I've said...just how've I've said it. Maybe I do think too highly of love and people. I've thought that a few times, yes, I have, but I just get depressed thinking about people. I love animals. :(

hmm, yes that's me in my profile, and yes, I do love The Smiths. I was ecstatic when I was Morrissey two times here. :)

And by the way, you are very pretty. And Mike, I hope you realised it was just a joke!

ah shit, no, when I saw him. I never thought I'd see him perform. And he played twice in my state. Thought it was great. :)

I saw him. Never was him. Typographical error. :(

Gee, thanks. I never know how to take compliments.

Usually "thanks" does the trick.

*Well, your post was interesting, but not clarifying. From your last message, it would just seem you're afraid of being fooled, just like many other girls. That's quite different from what you said in all the posts before, y'know? Y'see, it's just you can't speak clearly about the problem, because it would involve personal details you don't want to reveal, and rightly so. Anyway there's people fooling with love, but there's also true love, maybe not forever, but that while it lasts is the most important moment of your life. But I just understood your problem is more visceral, and you're disgusted by the very thought of sex. Anyway the fact that you'd accept being a lesbian confirms that you're open minded and it's not just mere education or bigotry which brought you here. Not that I want to know it, really, as I said I think you're right to keep your personal things private...

About Morrissey going out with girls, I just read an interview a few months ago where he said he enjoys being alone because he feels his own company for himself is a privilege and no one makes him feel as good as himself and he wasn't interested in relationships yet (both friendship and love). Oh well, his mind is really gone... let's stick to his art! And you, Volo, please don't follow his path, it's wrong wrong wrong...

I know it wasn't clarifying... that's why I can't make sense of it, even in my own mind. You were right to get the initial idea of how I feel about the whole thing. Again, that later post was a little too general. I think.

I don't really know if Mozza was going out with that girl, but I do remember when he was on Janice Long's show 2 years ago and said he wasn't a celibate anymore... Though he wouldn't disclose the info and say who he cuddled up with. I know he's said these things before, and I know there's a fair chance of him being mental to the point of meaning it, but, quite frankly, I think he's full of shite. He probably gets loads of it, and with underage fans just like our Ms Ramos here! :evil4:

*Of course! But I wanted to reply anyway to make it totally clear how it could never ever happen even in the most surreal fantasy... because intercontinental flights are too damn expensive! :p

I didn't mean to say that he gets loads of it with you, but with young fans in general, you being an example of a young Mozza fan - it's surprising enough you're 16 and like him. Please, take no offence, as it was not a personal attack or anything.
