Help needed from Spanish speakers

The book I'm reading at the moment is only partly translated in some chapters, I understand the context of the following sentence but I dont know its exact translation , anyone help ?

tu cadaver pequeno de capitan valiente ha extendido en lo inmemso su metalica forma Sorry my machine is not configured to put in accents etc. PS is there software available for typing spanish characters, accents etc ? Thanks Gary Mac

hey, im taking spanish and i use freetranslation.com for translations and stuff.

Well there's one called Babelfish, I tried it when I was studying Spanish, translate English to Spanish, worked okay ... then I thought I'd test it and reverse the process, what came back was not the sentence I put in , it was not even semanticaly similar, since then I dont trust 'em. Thats why I'm hopin for a Spanish speaker to sort it, like I say I get the context, but not the exact meaning Thanks for your reply though K, it is appreciated. PS dont rely on on-line translaters when you get nearer to exam time, unless they let you take one into the exam room

Which book's that Gary? The sentence seems a bit surreal to me. Actually sounds like a very, very bad translation from Babelfish itself (which sometimes turns up with very poetic turns of phrase like "the sunshine in your soft kneecaps reminds me of battles lost" Or as Wenorder once memorably posted: "Peter Hook actuaba como un pequeño desconcierto excitado de la muchacha"). I've never trusted them internet translators, better to ask your obliging Spanish (or Argentinian) Friends.

BTW is that Walkden as in Walkden, the nice bit of Salford?

well, it´s just changing your keyboard options to Spanish language. that would do. and if you don´t have that option i think it´s downloadable from somewhere, right?

Hiya, the book is Che's Bolivian diary, but the copy I have is one I picked up in Havana , it is a copy I swapped for some Clash cd's and tee shirts, it's mainly in english with the odd bit of Spanish, with the very basic Spanish I have I'm gettin through it fine, however Che's poetic tone after the death of a longtime friend needed a bit of clarity, as I stated knowing the context helped. Yes, I live in the nice bit of Salford on the Walkden/Worsley border,( do you know Walkden ? not many do ) my Brother lives in the rather more lively place next to us Little Hulton,former home of various Happy Mondays, the actor Chris Ecclestone , a couple of soap stars from Coronation Street and some fella in BBMAK the pop band. We in Walkden only have the singer Sarah Watmough, who was a bloody good barmaid in our local and is better lookin than Shaun Rider anyway. Just like you I do not trust Google translators, and leave well alone. Thanks for your help, and I will no doubt seek further help from both Spanish and Argentinian friends Gary Mac

It's time to get the Spanish/English dictionary out, my most recent mistake with your language was in Palma de Mallorca in January , I got my singular/plurals etc mixwd up when buying a toothbrush for Mrs garymac, basicaly I asked for a toothbrush to clean her tooth, the assistant looked at my poor wife with great pity, how could one so young only have one tooth. Learning can be fun, but it's nice to have help

Quite often I would go for lunch to one of the quieter pubs of Worsley (much better than Pendleton, where I was living for three months, at, no laughs please, Coronation Street)

I know Pendleton, a cruel place to make you live, still I hope you had a chance to sample Manchesters music scene first hand, incidentaly I'm visiting the Instituto Cervantes at the weekend, dont know if you know it, but basicaly it's the only place I can hire Spanish movies in M/CR ( Saura, Luna and Almodovar ) before deciding if they're worth buying on ebay .... Coronation Street ? :D Sorry

Yes, I know the place well, a bit "grand" when you consider it's being builded with taxpayers money but.. money well spent if it serves to promote Spanish and Spain.

When I had my first job interview the gentleman who'd eventually become my boss read the adress, started laughing and went out of the office shouting to everyone to the top of his voice (he was from Bury) "This lad here lives at Coronation Street!" Then they all started laughing. Picture my confusion. Still, I got the job.
