I've had Mozilla Firefox recomended as my new browser. Can any of our resident teckkies tell me if is worth installing ??? (currently on I.E.)

As I've already wirtten in the technical forum, it's OK, but you won't be able to visit properly (or at all) sites written in bad non-standard Java and HTML. IE is still the only one to display everything. mozilla.org and then scroll.
Yes, I also thought of the Clint movie.
But my first thought at the thread title was that this was something about the bosses in the Mario Bros. nintendo games. Then I thought long and hard and realized, "Why the fook would anyone (besides me, apparently) post something about that?"
Problem with such browser, is that they are HTML compliant, which Internet Explorer ISN'T, so it won't work with all the sites if the developper who did it only uses IE..
Which is my case, it's already long to do it for 1 browser, so I'm quite HAPPY Netscape died because of that... not that IE is better, but at least it's now standard.
BUT good point for Firefox: there's no bug for your menu!!! Noticed it now! 
This means only one thing: it's IE which can't render the correct code of your menu, which therefore can't be fixed, simply because there's nothing to fix, it's IE which must be fixed.
On Firefox your menu works, you can see the submenu lists all the times you want...

you can "tab browse" hit Ctrl T and a new tab (like a new window, only without the crap on your start bar / associated having loads of programmes open lark)
its quicker too
and smaller
and a lot lot better than ie.
takes half an hour to download over a 56k (telephone line). would really really reccomend it!

You can tab-browse in IE as well, just download Crazy Browser.... !!!
There are tons of plugins for IE to do the exact same thing as you want to do ;)
All these programs have small little bugs, like they minimize when there's a pop up, or frame other pop ups (I mean those of the sites, not the spam) and you can't scroll them... the truth is they're admirable but amateurish attempts at doing what is not the project of IE: tab browsing. As we said there's plenty of problems with the aternatives too, Opera and Mozilla: they're just made for tab browsing, but they can't deal with non-standard code and mess a lot of sites. My solution is this: I've set the blank page as home page on IE, when I want a new window I click the IE logo in the system bar, near the Start button, and a new IE window quickly appears.
tab browsing aside its much better. theres a proper google bar , dictionary check, loads of extra shit (incl tabbing) without the need for plugins!
its lighter and quicker i havnt come accross any bugs yet it blocks out ads, but not necessary popups.
its the shit, and the internet would be a better place if you used it FACT !
Google bar... why? Are you too lazy to put Google in your links and click it? When I have some time I may collect a list of sites you can't view properly with Mozilla. I also don't like how bookmarks are handled (you can't see URLs without checking properties) and the fact after so many years it doesn't colour the active links.
