Try living here. Here in the wonderful non sectarian area in belfast known as the "holylands" its been a nightmare day. I dread to think what its going to be like at 3am.

and the amount of celtic shirts! Its like being at celtic park!

I wore green when I went to school because I didn't want to get punched by other guys or pinched by the girls; the kids in my schools were vicious

getting pinched by girls isnt that bad :) now getting kicked in the nuts sucked.

Because for some strange reason, people have actually bought into the myth that the Irish are fun loving people who enjoy a good drink.

Its great being in Belfast on paddys day, you cant get in any pubs at all, because they are ALL pay in (unless Shelley can prove me wrong on this?) and when you do get it, the drinks prices are astromonical.

It may be St. Patrick's day, but it's also Billy Corgan's birthday.

I'll remember NOT to raise my beer to him tonight.

i fucking hate "paddys day"

everything thats shit about being oirish. superpubs, crap music irish daning and a propagation of the illusion that ireland has a good nightlife (untrue), is friendly (total bollocks), and to top it off our taoiseach goes to meet a mass murderer.

happy padjo's day from dublin :evil4:

I thought about grabbing a brew at the local Mexican restaurante, but the presence of the Highway Patrol right outside made me wary of even smelling of beer. I really didn't feel like leading a high-speed chase simply because I refused to let the pigs harrass me :nonono:

How the fuck I made it to work today is anybody's guess!!!

I got totally hammered at our local Irish Centre, half of Corby was out. Watched the Celtic game on the big screen (inbetween heads going past me at the bar) 2-1 to the BHOYS. Cracking night getting blootered with a band playing all the old favourites;)

Thank fuck the missus stopped me going to a nightclub, ma heid is STILL banging.

I'll second that. What really bugs me (or used to as I've only gone out once in the past 7 years on Mar. 17) is all the fucking twice a year drinkers that flood (in every sense) the pubs. After about 2 pints they're falling around/vomiting/beating the shit out of each other or all of the above. Set to a crap soundtrack. Morons. I'm glad that my job means I have to work on that night. Although it means wading through the rubbish, overturned bins & empty bottles & cans to get to my car the following morning.

Ban it, I say!

:jawdrop: Paddy's Day must NEVER be banned! It's a pity the Scottish Cup game with the forces of ultimate and complete darkness didnae go to a replay. That way we could have beat the horrible hordes at Glagow Zoo on Paddy's Day:evil4:

What is wrong with The Fields Of Athenry?

I fucking hate half wits that havnae got a clue about their past. Is it because Celtic supporters sing it?

If you are from Ireland and watch either the football or the rugby, both crowds sing this song with a passion.

too many nights in a shit pub watching people "dance" (note- general broad use of word!) along to bluemonday, or , alternately tell me about the 7 men who signed our first constitution whilst singing along to "athenry" and making underhand racist or anti "brit" remarks (usually whilst wearing a manunited jersey)

thankfully ive worked my way out of that milleu and into a much better scene :thumb:
