I'm Brian's better half??????? Pretty sure that'd be big news to Briana Chelsea vs. Celtic in Seattle eh? Hadn't seen any matches regarding Celtic's tour, all I've noticed was that Man U wasn't coming up this way again, and the rematch with Celtic is in Philly.

If I'm in Philly then, I'll make sure to hide.

Oh yeah Jeff, another tidbit for ya to check out. Since I love the start of March Madness for college basketball, I was relaxing having a brew or two tonight when, during a break from the all-day action, I surfed over to ESPN and caught part of a new show they're running, and it's called Timeless (started 7 pm PST, so I guess that'd be 9 for you). It had an excellent piece on Celtic Vs. Rangers, and the bitterness between the two sides of fans, of course for the benefit of some Americans there were some subtitles throughout Worst part though was that the feature included action from a match at Ibrox, and a cabbie, who started singing No Pope In Rome.

I'll hunt you peeps down again if you make it into Sea-town. (And I'm FINALLY of drinking age this time, so no more of this dodgy clandestinity.) Keep me posted.....

College sports are more exciting and with less (although unfortunatly not always zero) corporate bullshit. The players play because they love the game, that's sports.

I don't know that I buy the "play for the love of the game" angle, somehow I can't be uncynical. There's plenty of rewards for college players besides salaries (ease on grading procedures, interesting "recruitment" tours, looking for NBA contracts, etc). Not saying it's impure, however: I'm not a huge hoops fan, but I'll probably catch a game or two this weekend of college ball, which is something I rarely make time for when it's professional basketball

And not all college sports are exciting (baseball with an aluminum bat going "ping!" is not my idea of excitement, sorry) :D

Oh, getting enough of our local "pro" basketball team was enough to drive me from paying big bucks for a (largely) crappy product, though getting rid of Rasheed Wallace has been a positive for those who've tired of the spoiled brat antics of some of the pros.

College sports have become, to a certain extent, minor leagues for the pros, with lots of money from sponsors, etc. available to the major schools. Still, there's enough stuff to keep me going back there instead of the pros. Tabsy hit it right on the head about college baseball; aluminum bats are one of my pet peeves, so I opt for track and field.

Anyhoo Jeff, seeing as how I believe that these tours of the US by European clubs are going be yearly, I'll always try to attend whatever match is in Seattle, unless there's a more compelling one elsewhere. This year, however, Seattle is my only choice, seeing as how I've got a new car. Plus, I can wear my Spurs shirt and :p to all of the Chelsea fans (don't worry, won't forget the hoops).
