Interesting and l o n g article in this months GQ magazine (with Viggo Morteson on cover). Morrissey models some expensive wear and has some usual things to say about Johnny Marr and the Smiths. Interviewer's questions had a slant of pro-Morrissey, but still a very interesting read.

I think Mozza's pulling the biggest con job in history with all this "ambiuous but we all know" routine. He's probably far more butch than we give him credit for...

His music has been shit since 1988 onwards,his depressing lyrics arent deep & truth be told its Johnny Marr who is stopping a Smiths re-union. The Smiths were big for 5 years,Moz has been so-so for 17 now where as Marr has stayed prominant with Electronic & The The,plus The Healers (which is just ok).
To be honest, Moz is a way of life... just like JD or The Cure or Skinny Puppy.
He's succeeded in becoming more than just a simple crooner.

I thought, "Your Arsenal," and, "Vauxhall and I," were good albums. But they didn't have staying power, at least for me. I stopped listening to them years and years ago and haven't really listened to any Smiths records with any consistency in at least six or seven years. The same is not so with New Order, and there was a time that R.E.M., New Order, and The Smiths were my personal triumvirate of personal listening pleasures.
i like "vauxhall & I" as well as "viva hate" (vinnie reilly!!) but beyond that... meh.
on a side note, southern california's most prominent smiths tribute (the sweat & tender hooligans) are playing in san diego with Mike Joyce & Andy Rourke DJing in between sets. i'm trying to figure out if i wanna go mingle with all those smith's/moz rebel-psycopaths...
