:barf:American news

Anyone else notice how damn politically polarized news TV has become? FOX is filled with old white conservatives with Southern Baptist haircuts, CNN has commies in Lou Dobbs and that overweight lady with the shoulder-length straight brown hair, MSNBC has the spawn of hitler named Joe Scarborough, NPR and PBS like always are run by liberals, there's that new liberal talk radio network with Al Franken, and there's still some right wing pricks on radio too. I've resorted to watching the BBC and the French national news for my world news, and I watch Keith Olbermann for some quality national news. I've just lately been sickened by the hoopla over the Condi Rice testimony in which all of the info. she provided was previously testified by her in private. CNN has been inviting left wing pricks like Ben Veniste and Gary Hart to talk about Condi; I'm starting to think that CNN is becoming more left wing than FOX is right wing Oh and the newspapers are biased like always, the New York Post praising Bush and The NY Times shooting him down.

I don't think the left-wingers are anywhere near as organized as the righties when it comes to media. Fox News is so damn popular because there's a tide in this country to forget the lessons of Vietnam and forget all the good things that happened whenever a Democrat was prez, and just give up our free thought and let the government tell us what to do. If anything, I'm a bit more libretarian than liberal when it comes to government control of anything. There's a huge movement in the media to go conservative (because they're all owned by conservatives anyway, except CNN), so it's no surprise that right now, conservatives rule the roost.

I think the Fox Fuckers (my name for 'em) should get down on their knees and pray to an altar of Bubba Clinton every day (notice I didn't say "go down on an altar..." )

CNN is owned by liberals, so is CBS (Viacom, which owns Comedy Central as well [Daily Show]). I find ABC and NBC don't tend to sway either way, so overall I find that the media is pretty much even right now, but considering the media during the Clinton-era, the media is much more conservative than before. I wish liberal news would triumph once again because those damn nutjobs tend to be much funnier than old white Christian men.

I am also more libertarian more than anything else (pro-business/pro-civil rights)

well i know this thread is based on an american theme ,but this seems to be repeating itself here in the uk. at times it feels as if the media is the opposition party,mainly due to a lack of opposition from various other parties in the political loop. instead of the oppo parties raising questions it has come down to journalists who are mainly freelance to cause a stir. ive heard a few other political commentators pick up on this too,and it looks like a shape of things to come. cant say im too happy about it though ,because no matter how unbaised they are in reporting the NEWS?,they r human nonetheless.

I always like watching Deutsche-Welle TV when I go up to Canada on winter holiday. Except they speak German sometimes, which is very disconcerting...especially with it being a German station. They didn't forget Rudolf Hess!

I think Telemundo, but that's the only Spanish language channel I know of (in other words, don't quote me on it) The only entertaining thing I find on those channels are Lucha Libre (even faker than the WWE) and Spanish versions of Nicktoons. :D
