Any other New Order fans trying to form a band?

I'm new, so hi. I'm a big New Order fan, and I live in Basingstoke. Hilariously, I'm of a painfully small minority who listen to bands like New Order...I think most people here think that Blue Monday was by the Bangles.

If finding other people who like good bands is hard in Basingstoke, then finding musicians to form a band with is nigh-on impossible. Well, ones who don't want to play LInkin Park anyway. So, are there any other New Order fans locally who are dying to make New Order/Joy Division inspired music?

Don't know about anyone in your neck of the woods, but I can safely say it's equally impossible to find like-minded NO fans here in good ole SC. My cousin and I were once entertaining the idea, I even have two notebooks chock-full of subpar Joy Division ripoffs that were to be our songs, but he had to move away for a job and I realized I couldn't sing worth a damn anyway. I have now moved on into the lucrative world of comedy writing, but I hope you have better luck than I :thumb:

And welcome to the jungle :hi:

Yeah welcome. Nice to see someone with a sense of humour on here for a change! Tribute band you wanna form? should be plenty of offers on here. :thumb:

Not a tribute band...just paying a tribute by listening to lots of their records, and then trying to then write original material which doesn't sound too much like a rip-off. If at the end of all that it sounds a tenth as good as the great New Order (and all the other records i listen to), THen I could be onto something. Maybe.

Mind you, there's ample scope for tribute band names...how about 'Side Order'?

Hi and :welcome: ! Always nice to see new people here. I know what you mean about people where you live not being aware of NO, it's the same in my part of the world. Good luck with finding band members.

there's a kid from chatsworth, california (other than tristan) and myself, who is trying to put together something... but that is near los angeles and still too far away for even me. welcome, and good luck.
