Well, the show is held at a venue called METROPOLIS! How funny is that! (forthose who don't know, Kraftwerk have a song named Metropolis on the Man Machine album).

So I guess nobody is going to see this show on the site other than me ?

I will make a much obliged report when I come back.

i'd love to go, but montreal is a bit far, and that is the closest kraftwerk show to me :(

I would like to go as well but at 45$ a ticket, it's kind of expensive if you buy tickets for two plus parking fees, it's a hundred bucks evening. I have better ways to spend that money for now, like on the house i bought a few months ago.

Will be waiting for you review Seb and have a good concert

Haha, and God knows houses don't come cheap in Laval or Montreal these days. :eek3:

And yes, 45$ is quite expensive for a concert at the Metropolis with no reserved seats but, eh, this is what I paid in 2000 to see the Pet Shop Boys and I paid the same last summer to see David Gahan, all at the Metropolis. I think my Björk ticket cost me around fifty bucks too, and it was an outside venue (Parc Jean-Drapeau).

Concerts do not come cheap these days!

Neither do baseball games by the way -- just came back from the Olympic Stadium where I went to see the Expos opening game along with Spotnick and two friends and it cost us 40$ for VIP tickets, just to see the Expos lose miserably to the Phillies and to watch half of the hockey game on TV while we were there, only to see the Canadiens get crushed by the Lightning.

And they call this entertainment.

Ok, I just lost the 2 page review I had just wrote after coming back from the show because of Nick's system ($%?$%?$%?&) WHO WILL LOG YOU OFF WITHOUT ANY WARNING AFTER 10 MINUTES, so if you click SUBMIT after such a delay, you will lose all the content of your message.

So just to thank Allen Jarvis for pushing me to go see that show -- it was probably the most original concert I've been to, with the most eclectic crowd too.

Radioactivity was kicking ass!

Pocket Calculator was transformed into the obscure, France release only, "Mini calculateur". I guess they did this only for Montreal, and it was very cool to hear and the crowd was VERY pleased with the fact they were doing this in french, for them. Ralf & Florian seemed to have fun during that one because it was one of the few times when they were really moving and smiling.

Also, nobody ever told me that the famous Kraftwerk mannequins were ACTUAL REAL FUNCTIONING ROBOTS !!!!!! I was very impressed with that.

Oh, anyone know where I can buy the tie with the red lights? I NEED THAT.

:thumb:

P.S. Ralf (or is that Florian? I still can't tell for sure which one is which! Anyway, the guy who was singing all night long, at the left of the stage) has left us by saying "BONNE NUIT... À BIENTÔT".

So that means Kraftwerk might be back...

...Thank God!

Any system will log you out after 20 mins, it's standard...

Hence why I do cut and paste my message each and every time I write a long one!!!

The Man Machine, or should I say DIE MENSCH MACHINE, is definitly one of the tracks that has been sticking into my head since I left the show! These robotic vocoded voices were very powerful, and that version was quite long compared to the one on the album. Great stuff !!!

The track that I liked more than I thought was AERO DYNAMIK... it came out pretty well live I think.

And no kidding... I really want to buy a tie similar to the one they were wearing, with the red led lights... that's spectacular. :thumb:  ;)

Indeed. I've got a couple of mates going over for the World Poker Championships (I kid ye not!) so a few of us are gonna tag along.. .

It's a fairly big event indeed, plus I've noticed televised poker shows on at least four channels from time to time, including one with celebrities. Vegas is always interesting, though I haven't been there in a couple of years at least.

Checked that link of yours yesterday Al:clap: Brought back loads of happy memories. I have found myself listening to a helluva lot of KW recently. Mrs ShugZV is begging me to put New Order back on the stereo:lol:

I had "The Robots" tune banging around ma heid for a week or two after the gig, and I've picked up a few cracking MP3's from Soulseek. Really glad I went to see them. So I'll second the round of applause for the big yin:nod:
