Everton can no more afford Alan Smith than Chesterfield can. I also heard the Toffees want Joe Cole on a years loan, anyone know if that's a go-er or not...?

Everton wanted him before he went to Chelsea. I think they have enquired again. Then again Houllier could be gone the weekend and Dalglish has been mentioned again if you believe the media.

Dalglish for Liverpool??? Crikey, that's big. He was a great manager at Anfield, though, he should never have left. Liverpool have done scrote all since Kenny buggered off.
Has Smith ever said he was a boyhood Leeds fan? I've seen him kissing the badge and a lot of people have said on his behalf that he was but I'm 99% sure he was a Liverpool fan at the time he was featured in that documentary about kids at Lileshall.

So am I. Remember him sitting on his bed with Leeds and Liverpool posters on his wall. The word around Leeds this week is that, as a kid, Smith was a die-hard Scum fan. That sounds like the usual the conspiracy theories to me.
It's probably the best move for him, although I'll hate the tw8t for it. God knows what Moyes is on thinking he cand tempt Smith to Goodison, but you gotta admire the man's optimism.

Is he likely to feature unless they get injuries? Saha must surely be ahead of him, even if he hasn't formed a great partnership with RVN, as yet. His goalscoring record is still head and shoulders above Smith's. Can't see them accomadating him deeper either with Scholes as the competition for that place.
I like him but don't think he's what we need either. Wouldn't start him ahead of Owen, Cisse or Baros. Wouldn't want him pushing Pongolle furthere down the pecking order either.
