So the news is out, The Cure's little festival Curiosa will not stop in Montréal , but will be in Toronto on August 9th.

I have yet to find when the tickets will be on sale, I'm pretty interested, as The Cure is probably the only common musical interest between my wife and I :D unfortunately it's a monday.

But since Interpol will also be featured, I'm very interested in going..

But I'm curious, anyone knows how they are suppose to manage the 2nd stage? I mean, those shows are in amphitheaters, not really on a field like Glastonburry or Reading... they have seats in those venues!

We caught the Cure at the world's largest amphitheatre. there was a second stage somewhere for the 2nd rate bands. But the two stages did not play at the same time. huge ass grass lawn for the 45,000 that did not get seats. We actually hung out in the parking area and drank beer until thye mainliners began.

I will be heading to Chicago on August 12 with my wife to catch this show. Interpol and Mogwai are worth seeing, too, as Mogwai reminds me of Sonic Youth.

Tickets are not on sale yet for the Chicago show, Tweeter Center Tinley park, Il. Damn, tomorrow is pay day.....

Hopefully I'll see them in Seattle on Aug. 21st. I'm not missing them on this tour!

chicago tix go on sale june 12th. the only problem with that is, its the same day and time the detroit tickets go on sale. i plan on going to 4 of the shows. the rumor is that the cure will be doing another north american tour by themselves :) hopes its true. and i think the chainofflowers.com site mentioned that afi and some other special guests have pulled out, dont know if that means no second stage at all now, but thecure.com mentioned there will be two stages and an explanation as to why they are doing curiosa.

If that's the case, with them doing a full tour, then I might be able to catch them in Boston, Camden, or NYC.

Depends on how fast I drive. 4 to 5 hours legally although my car was built to do twice the speed limit for hours and hours.

I see that this show is playing in Michigan the day before. I wonder how far from Chicago the 8/11 show is.

twist, chicago fucking went on sale already! the damn pre-sale was supposed to be tomorow. please check chainofflowers.com for all the updates with the pre-sale stuff. and i would reccomend trying to search for better tickets when the regular sale begins as they usually dont sell only the good seats during the pre-sale, but a limited number of them.

oh, www.wxrt.com to register, or chainofflowers.com with direct links.

I have not decided where I want to sit, close or the lawn. Could be a long night to be in one spot but the seating has a roof which will block the August sun.

Are cameras accepted or do I need to strap it to my privates like last time?

Toronto tickets go on sale saturday... I just missed a presale, it was Wednesday.. apparently the page went off at midnight because it's not there

Oh well, 82.50$ for general admission tickets in front of the stage, that's MAD... 62.50$ for seats or 42.50$, that's also mad.. 25$ for lawn, that's affordable.

Oh well, I'm 30, so I can pay myself 62$ tickets.. but is it worth it? I read the Cure might tour alone soon...

Wifey got lawn tickets. This gives us a little more freedom of movement and the better opportunties to smoke grass.

Yes, Spotnick, its worth it. First, you do not know if they are touring solo. Second, they are at the top of their game. Third, Interpol and Mogwai.

BTW, it says the show starts at 5 pm, seems late for the amount of bands that are playing.

Well, if we make it, it'll be on the grass...

Curfew laws are an example of big liberal government and/or Christian Socialism and/or "we got a lot of rich property owners around here that want the bastards inside by midnight."

Bullshit nonetheless.

I could tell you a funny story about fuckwit cops and curfew laws, but anyway...I'm hoping to see The Cure at their show at the Gorge in August, but goddammit I don't want to drive out into the middle of the fucking desert to do it! I'd do it for New Order (as I should've last time they came), and I did it for Depeche, but maybe I'll bite the bullet and shell out the money. I don't know. I suppose I can wing it somehow and sleep in my car.
