First off, my hard drive did something funny yesterday...I can't get windows to load no matter what...I think I'm just going to blow the damn computer up...

then today, i go to the doctor for another visit regarding my leg...and they tell me that I can't get on an airplane for at least 3 to 6 months...meaning, I can't wear my wonderful new away shirt to Seattle after all...well, I can, but not at the Chelsea-Celtic match...

if it wasn't for my copy of community arriving, I might be just a wee bit upset right now!!!

actually, I am a wee bit upset...Community just makes it a little better!!!

see you guys this weekend!!!

It could be worst.

Since I upgraded my PC to a Pentium 4 3 GHz, the cpu fan was noisy enough that you can hear it though the house, I decided to go to the shop to buy a new casing because I thought it needed more air.

The clerk convinced me to get a new cpu fan instead (P4 cpu fans are monster!), so I did.

Well, my installing my new fan, don't ask me how, I managed to ruin my CPU and my motherboard... the CPU seemed to be glued with the fan due to heat, etc...

End of the story, it cost me 600$ to fix this, simply because of a damned noise.

Good side of the story, I'll get a new motherboard out of the warranty, and probably a CPU from intel, but due to some cpu pins that are no longer at 90 degrees, it might be complicated... I hope it will be ok, but I need to call them because the shop won't do it themselves.

So basically I paid 600$, I'm waiting to get stuff out of the warranty so I can sell them back, I had to pay 50$ for installation, and I'm stuck with a brand new useless fan I can't return it because I emptied the "thermal past"...

How to feel embarassed when you are a computer engineer eh? Damn it, installing a cpu fan was much easier than this a few years ago!!

Amtrak. Of course, you'll have to take some time off work to make the trip, and we all know how much you'd hate to miss even one day at Target...

Amtrak. Of course, you'll have to take some time off work to make the trip, and we all know how much you'd hate to miss even one day at Target...

Well that truly sucks Jeff :thumbdown: Hopefully looks like these tours are gonna be a yearly thing, so we'll look forward to that.

Yeah, take Amtrak, and see the backyards of every town along the way, all of the unused appliances, cars, trash, etc. :lol: Make sure you get a sleeper car unless you enjoy sleeping in your seat overnight :skeptic: waking up in the morn after a less than restfull night of sleep. I did it twice, once to Colorado, which wasn't a lot of fun though I was younger and recovered nicely, and once to Berekely, a couple of years ago, for a football game, which was better cause I went with friends and we got plastered on the way down.

I agree about the train. If you have the money, take a sleeper car. Two years ago, I took a train from Philly to Chicago and back again, and, both times after I woke up from sleeping in those seats, my back, my arms, and knees were pretty sore. Plus, they didn't seem to shut off the air conditioner at night, either.
