We had a visitor from Greece yesterday in Montréal... the olympic flame decided to come and visit us.
Well, we are the largest bust in Olympic history after all 
, we're STILL paying for the Olympic stadium and it will be 30 years next year... ;)

Nicos...how can you say the Montreal Olympiad was a bust???
I still can't get the picture of Bruce Jenner in his skimpy shorts running around out of my head...excuse me, I need to go be ill now....
we (denver, i mean. my hometown) were offered the winter olympics in '76 (or was it '80?) and turned them down. too expensive, and colorado wasn't exactly booming in the seventies. still, if anywhere in the US should have the winter olympics, it's colorado! definitely the first place that comes to mind when i think of winter sports in this country.
geez...i totally forgot the olympics are this summer. and i usually catch 'olympic fever' in a big way. i guess i've lost my olympic mojo.
I think most of America has been immunized already. I honestly think it's some of the most boring television possible, imho 
I was offered $50 an hour to collect urine samples. Was offered $5k for 6 ounces of drug free urine for certain atheletes.

Hate to be a fortune teller who predicts ugly things, but ure record of 30 years-after payment is about to be breaken by us Greeks (hate to use the word "us" when it comes to things like that, i prefer to use it when it comes to football, but i cant be picky ;) ).

Seriously, I think Rio, Sao Paulo or Buenos Aires should host the games someday.. I know the economy isn't the best in the world, but I don't understand why the games never went there!

What's the weather like in South America that time of year???
I know I should probably know this kind of stuff, but since our summer is the southern hemisphere's winter, that might put a damper on things...
uhm...on second thought, I recall that London hosted the Summer Olympiad a few years back...and we know how crap the weather can be in England...even during the summer!!!:p

I will be riveted to the television watching the amateur USA basketball team...
what a load of crap...what are those guys doing in the Olympics??? same with all the NHL players at the winter games...
