Lollapalooza Canceled

I guess nobody does want to see that whiny cunt Morrissey, or all those other wussy indie rock bands.
I guess you need the stupid metal bands to sell tickets.
I kinda wanted to see Sonic Youth or how well or not they aged. Lack of advertising. I only found out because I was buying tickets for Curiosasasa.
I saw Sonic Youth a few years back and all they played was some free-form guitar odyssey thing that was JUST AWFUL.
I saw them on the Sister tour way back when and they were fucking awesome. But I drifted away from them after the album with Mildred Pierce--great song until the screaming.
What do you think of Mogwai?
I've only heard a few Mogwai songs, but I've really liked them all. Nice static-y guitars and no audible vocals (at least not on the ones I heard). It's good music. Looking forward to hearing more of them at Curiosa this summer!

Metal isn't bad, as long as pre-1992 Metallica does it.
Metallica really took a dump with the black album and has yet to wipe. I cannot believe their fan base is so huge after all these years.
I have a Mogwai boot somewhere and it reminded me of Sonic Youth back in its day.

I've heard that Mogwai has done a cover of JD's Twenty-Four Hours live, but I've never been able to find a bootleg of that particular song.

Well, I liked the Black Album, although I can see how it led to the utter duds they've produced in the '90s. If they had any sense, they'd go back to doing 7 minute songs with a bunch of guitar solos, but, apparently they can't seem to see where they've strayed.
chicago suntimes had an article about lallapalooza being cancelled. they mentioned that its been a horrible season so far for all bands at out door venues. they also mentioned curiosa might be in serious trouble as well.
