My country is a mess today...

We have 4 very distinct perspective in Canada...

Atlantic Provinces Québec Ontario Western Canada

Hence, we elected a pretty weird government yesterday...

Atlantic voted Liberal (Democrat equivalent) Québec voted Bloc Québecois (Independentist party) Ontario voted Liberal West voted Conservative (Republican)

So when you check this...

1. Atlantic provinces voted against the party who claimed they are losers or something like that
2. Quebec voted against the former government, but doesn't want to be near any Conservative
3. Ontario didn't change much, but they decided who would be prime minister
4. West is completely conservative...

Gee, seriously, this country is a mess and will never be able to work, there isn't a consensus from coast to coast... and never will be.

The new Conservative party's vision is horrible from Quebec's perspective, and will never win an election without Quebec... so for the first time almost ever, we have a 4th liberal government, but it's a minority government and the power shift belongs to a party that is for the independence of Quebec

Oh well, if we were in middle east, we'd be on war all the time, but fortunately, we're civilized ;)

This is actually why the liberals didn't win much in Québec, there is a sponsorship scandal going on.

Our federal government paid huge money to sponsor events in the last 10 years, I think 80% was for Quebec, for "visibility" (read, anti-Independance), we discovered that they found ways to go against the electoral law in the independence referendum in 1995 with a "secret canadian unity fund", and then we found out that the idiots paid huge (and when I mean huge, it's HUGE) commissions on each of the sponsorship they done to public relations companies, owned mostly by friends of the government.

And this is why those people in Ontario voted for them again?

Seriously, I don't get why people in Ontario voted for them.. the only explanation is because they feared that by voting for the New Democratic Party, they would be governed by Conservative today... otherwise

(Reminder for people who, like everybody should, don't know anything about Canada, the 1995 referendum for the independence of Quebec finished with 49.6% YES and 50.4% NO, so basically, they bought the vote and we were not aware of it!)
