"Desert of the Real?" Is that a reference to that big tattered map metaphor that Baudrillard goes on about? Wasn't it Borges who came up with that originally?

It's actually a reference to a line of dialogue from The Matrix (which I think in turn was stolen from Baudrillard). The book is about 9/11 and is well worth a read.
I don't think Zizek is a New Order fan, but you never know...
